http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/20/so...b-299-elite-3/It appears that two of the Xbox 360 SKUs will receive a $50 price drop by the week of Sept. 7, making the 60GB model $299 and the Elite $399 -- we've yet to hear any change on the $279 Arcade meanwhile, the Arcade will drop $80 to $199. A few of our retail contacts, some of whom have given us good intel in the past -- and who all work for separate corporations -- have sent us identical information regarding a price drop. Evidence of the Elite and Arcade price cut can be found in the gallery below featuring images sent us from the Sept. 7 Radio Shack flyer.
Update: Oh mercy, it's been a long day. The Arcade is marked as $199 in the flyer as well (under the TV, to the left). Thanks, Strike Man.
[Thanks Patrick, Master X, and everyone else who helped.] -

That's cool.
I think with two of the prices confirmed, the Arcade was given, but it's always good to hear confirmation.Spoiler:

What does it say on the top right again? Prices good 9/7-9/20/08? So this is only a two week cut, similar to wal-mart $100 cut? I have to admit, I might got one if I could play online for free. I might try to see if the dvd drive is flashable, because I thought it wasn't any more.

not bad, just picked mine up today and couldn't wait a few weeks to save $50 but it is definately going to help people jump ship if they have a wii, ps3 or other system. Good looking out, masterx and see you on xbl. I'm ready to...aim, fire.....Kill!

Last I heard the Jasper was going to ship in August and hit the shelves early Sept. but nothing since then.
I still have my original 360 running but have been getting disc read errors on random games. Thought I might want to get a new one with the HDMi port plus more disc space.
Was hoping to hear how the Jasper runs before I purchase.
Price drop would help immensely as well. -

I did find something on it, a blog, but that's the best I could do.
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/d...ves/139165.aspI had a tip off today that August 22nd is when Microsoft is scheduled to finish the first batch of "Jasper" motherboard powered Xbox 360. This are going to use a newer cooler 65 nm GPU as well as a 65 nm CPU. They are expected to hit the stores on the first week of September 2008.
I would guess in the next couple weeks we'll know what to look for on the box to find out where jaspers hiding. The August 22nd manufacture date quoted could be a good place to start, but I'm just speculating.
Hope you find one, my Falcon's rock solid so far, though I understand why others would be apprehensive. With little fact and tons of FUD running around the net, you'd think 360's were killing gamers in their sleep.
