XBL is free but online play is 50 a year....
The Arcade is geared toward the non hardcare, non online gamers, just people who pick and play and kids.

50ft cord is $25 at Walmart.

1. Many people lack the knowledge to do so.
2. You obviously haven't used this feature in Windows. It works but only sometimes, and what if someone else needs to use the laptop at the same time in their room? You'd have to keep moving it and all the power and ethernet wires around, which is a last-gen experience befitting the 360.
3. A $500+ laptop makes a very expensive wireless adapter.

1. Live is $50 no matter which version of the 360 you have. It will always cost more than the PS3 in the long run. You're also joking that people who want to play online won't want to buy a console just because "it's geared towards the non hardcore gamers" You don't have to play COD4 or Halo, you can play Uno you know?

2. I guess many people that want to own the 360 don't care about cords running all over their floor, or they all own their homes, which are all pre-wired already, or they are willing to spend hundreds, if not thousands to wire it all up. Nobody likes convenience, right?

well i have cable internet and all i have to do is change the modem downstair and take the cable from the tv. sure no one else can use the internet but I don't want them using it anyways while playing it. I wish i would have know before buying the useless and way overpriced 360 wireless adapter.

That's what MAD members always stated. They said you would have to be an idiot to buy the core/arcade SKU. I guess it's just one more thing MAD is spinning these days. Man, you guys can turn on a dime!

Again, wireless laptop - hook up to xbox 360 - bridge connections - wahlah xbox wireless connection for FREE. Plus if you are like me, you hook your laptop up to your big screen tv anyways, thus it's already there.

When I sale 360s I ask who is it for and are they going online with it. I explain why they need the 60gig or 20gig if they go online. No one would buy an Arcade for online. Theyll want to download movies, games, demos and will need a HDD.

The 60gig HDD is $99 but it comes with 3 months of XBL and a mic. Both run $20 a pop. So in the end you get a better deal by getting the Arcade and the 60gig HDD, thats 4 months of XBL instead of one with the 60gig 360.

WTF are talking about. Buy a $25 cord plug it in, run into the other room and thats about it...... Its not hard to run it alone the wall or under the carpet.....its free to do it

I bought the arcade because I can get a 20 gig drive for $30. Plus I hook the system up to my wireless laptop for online. $230 total seems like a pretty good deal for a high def system with a 3 year warranty to cover its shortcomings.

Seems to me you would have to be an idiot to disagree with that.

I agree with you that arcade+hdd is a better deal.
I disagree with you that it's that easy to run a cord. What if you have hardwood floors, or doors along the way. Many people don't like ruining the look of their homes by running cables visibly alongside them.

Are you going to play online? If you do, it's going to cost you more than your PS3 after 3.5 years.

thats a crock of shit..its just doesnt work sometime, it works all the time. I have never been booted out of anything going through my laptop. You think PS3 online will always be free? give it time. You have to pay for Qar now and thats just the beginning. At the rate ps3 is losing money it will come next.
