I know it is being phased out, but does anyone know if the 20GB model is gonna drop to $249? or will it remain at $299 until all units are sold out?

I thought people say only idiots buy the core/arcade SKU.

well the arcade is a good deal if you want a 2nd 360, cuz you can just swap your HDD between whichever you're playing on. I'm thinking of doin that

That is my plan if the 20GB doesn't drop to $249.

The “Core” SKU is long gone. It had no included storage method, a wired controller and no games. Yes, buying the core SKU made little sense.

The “Arcade” SKU is a much better package. And when the 60 GB hard drive is sold separately for $99 (as heavily rumored), there will be no penalty for Arcade owners to upgrade ($199 system + $99 hard drive = price of the Pro SKU).

sorry... i just think severely crippled is a bit harsh.
Online is not out of the box, it's $50/year extra, plus $100 wi-fi for many, many people.

You'll still be paying more than a PS3 in the long run, even if you got the Arcade.

$100 wi-fi for many many people? Why? What is wrong with a hard connection?

The 360 is $50 a year for online play (as of right now) so of course the ps3 is "less in the long run."

I was talking about the many, many people that:
1. Have their cable modem/router in a different room where their PC is, and their home is not wired for ethernet (most homes aren't). Wiring a home with ethernet is very expensive if you do it after the home is built.
2. Have their cable modem/router in a different room where their PC is, and rent, therefore cannot run cable through the walls.

I don't know you, but I believe many people intend to use their consoles for more than a month.
