yeah it is. if the 360 can't beat the ps3 by alot for the month of october with these prices its gonna be pretty sad. but hey the arcade is cheaper than the wii in europe and MS is still not outselling ps3 by a large marging.

Good enough that I took the plunge. I got one from Best Buy and will just get the difference after the price drop. I have always said that 360 hardware quality is bad, but at $199 who cares! If it lasts even 2 years I'm good with it. Besides there are a ton of used exclusives that are dirt cheap. At $199, this could be a tide changer.

Good move MS. Their ace in the hole has always been Sony's enormous manufacturing cost. Its about time they exploited it. With Sony's losses this generation they cant go toe to toe on price.

I think you made a smart move by buying it now. When the Sunday ads come out in two weeks, and the general masses learn they can get an Xbox 360 for $200, I’m guessing the Arcade SKU will be difficult to find for a while (unless Microsoft is smart and floods their channels with stock).

Considering they sell 2K a week and sold 24K the week prior to selling 7K I don't see how that's so unbelievable.

"severely crippled" sounds a little much to me. all they need is a hard drive to be complete. that's not much. they get to be hd and online ready right out of the box. play almost any game they want online or single player.

sorry... i just think severely crippled is a bit harsh.
