Gears of War 2 graphics: Overhyped?
Take a look at these new screens that came out just today:

Talk about blurry textures and aliasing problems galore. I'm sorry, but look at the textures on the Locust's uniform in the first shot. It looks no better than most Xbox 1 games for that shot.
Am I being too critical or are the Gears of War graphics way overhyped? -

Those do look TERRIBLE.
I'm betting that the game will look far better than that however. -

It's not like it matters because you don't even have a Xbox 360.

Considering even the first gears didn't look that bad, and in addition the game isn't complete yet, you're being too critical.
Judge the final product. I don't think GT Prologue is all that graphically mindblowing, and while it's just my own opinion, I can at least explain what I find fault with since we all know that release was the final product.Blu-ray's: 234

Games not done, and epic is no joke. Besides, at the very least gears 2 will look as good as the first. though like every game there will be some areas that look better than others

Doesn't look as good as the first. But if that is what it takes to make the framerate smooth this time and have more than 8 characters on screen at once then I'm all for the graphical reduction.

I was quite amazed by the first Gears of War... sadly, I'll likely have to buy a new computer to play this game, but I expect it to look better than the first. I've never given too much credit to screenshots... to me, screens of Uncharted don't do the beauty of the game any justice at all, as the true beauty lies in its movement as a real environment...
As far as what you're saying, yeah, I see it totally... the Locust's chest plate is stretched in an awkward way because of the way he's standing and it looks awful. And that guy that I'll bet will be cool as shit in the second screen has an awfully fucked up looking arm. But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that that will change. Epic has given me no reason to doubt them over the years.Samsung LN40B530, 40" 1080p LCD

It doesnt look any better than the first one but the first one did look very good. It wouldn't surprise me if there isn't much progression from the first because I dont think the 360 has much left to give.
Neither do I but that didn't stop me from playing the first GOW.
I wouldn't call GT Prologue 'mind blowing' but I think its undisputably the best looking racing game ever made.PSN, XBL, Steam & Origin ID: Redswipe -

I think it's safe to say Gears 2 , being worked on by the same team as the 1st, but with more time to learn the hardware n make it stretch, that Gears 2 will look better then Gears 1, and lots o people thought gears 1 looked damn good. Anyone thinking it'll look worse basically are trolls HOPING it looks worse
