Based off the comparison pictures release it does. The character models look less detailed in the new on as well based on those pics. Not really a bash though as the first one they focused on the character details heavily, some of the best character models in a 360 game.

I hear Galaxy is brilliant, and it probably is. Just can't picture myself sitting down and playing it. That would take time away from watching the Disney Channel and working on my coloring book.Ryan Payton (MGS4 Associate Producer) -

Wow, they JUST released this AMAZING new multiplayer movie of GoW2, it was HD and 8 minutes...thing is it was pulled as fast as it was loaded. (It was up for only a few minutes, and my DL was interrupted)

The footage in the link does look awesome. I'm sure Gears 2 will look great; the second time around should allow for them to make it look and play much better than the first.
Now Gears 1, while nice looking, has been severely overhyped in the graphics department. While I enjoyed the stylish look of the graphics, it's not this gen's king like a lot of xbots still make it out to be. Luckily there's a lot coming out this fall because I'll be waiting for the PC version.
