Haha pretty good way of putting it - thanks kenshiro

I have no doubt that gow2 will likely put r2 and kill zone 2 to shame sales wise. It's going to be a great game

I'm a big fan of the forza series and played quite a bit of it. I'll wait for Forza 3 for definitive comments - but it really doesn't hold a candle to GT as a whole. Forza is a reactionary series as a response to the GT dynasty - and the third installation of Forza is a direct response to GT5. Even look at the specs. Forza is going for the "me too" effect in having several hundred cars and many many tracks.

Nevertheless, I like both. I think it's going to be funny watching racing sim fans come out of the woodwork when F3 is released - because they previously hated racing sims when Gt5p came out. Oh teh jealousy
Was that F1 sim that was released on the PS3 any good? I've been looking in to buying it.

Well, I like F1 and sim racing games, so I loved F1 championship. It was really too hardcore for casual gamers though. The visuals are crisp, the career mode is very deep, the sense of speed is intense(better than GT5:P) and there's a lot of settings to play with. I'd say rent it first.

The first gears of war was great looking for its time. This looks to be a 5% increase in graphics, so yea Gears lost the crown a long time ago...

There's a demo on the PSN, well there used to be if there isn't now so you can try it first.

hmmmm those arent the best looking screens i've seen. All i know is that the lighting looks a lot better from the game footage i've been seeing. I doubt the guys at epic will dissapoint. Although karma is going to screw epic for pulling that crap on silicon knights.

Don't tell me compression technology has moved on in the last 18months.... Unless Gears2 is shorter, has less varied textures, or heavilly compressed textures, basically Gears2 is going to be pretty much Gears1 rehashed...
Dear lord you might have to switch disk during the story mode. Im pretty sure thats quicker than a 2 minute install between stages though. Hell the online mode might only be on disk one however so you might have to change from disk 2 or 3 to put disk one back in to play online. Its just total crap that you have to waste at least 15 seconds of time.

Bah, Silicon Knights can suck it for all I care!

I'm not the biggest fan of Cliffy B, but I respect him more than Dyack for whatever reason.

What the guys at Epic have said is that a lot of the engine has been cleaned up. Here's a bunch of environmental screen shots showing the differences between Gears and Gears 2.

Personally, I think Gears 2 looks much cleaner, and there is much more detail.

    Check out the Gridlock comparisons.
