Desperation? No, $$$. I mean why put out a game every 2 years that will sell 7 million copies... Idiots!

Even more, no where in the article does it say they are announcing it to come out this year, just that they are announcing it. Like Blizzard announcing Diablo 3 even though its still a bit away. Heck, Doom 3 was announced 3 years before it came out. I honestly don't see how this is desperation, just smart marketing. I mean, is it desperation when a movie studio announces a sequel the monday after a movie comes out?
I own a 360 and a PS3. I play my 360 more but think Uncharted is the best game of this generation so far. -

Halo 3 was announced in early summer of 2006 at E3 and released in late 2007

Halo 4? I'm gonna go ahead and say it:
Not possible.
Not this generation anyway, and not until Bungie decides to go back to the franchise. I think MS is going to leave the franchise open for other developers much like the same way Activision now no longer supports numbered CoDs that aren't done by IW.
So if there's anything Halo at E3 - it'll be something along the lines of "Halo: Master Chief Ain't Here No More".Great quotes on the internet:

Because the chances of them having kept quiet real Halo 4 development, given that Halo 3 came out only a few months ago, are about zero. Thus announcing it now would hypothetically be a desperate cry for attention, given that the real game couldn't come out anytime soon.

Would it be considered desperate and attention grabbing if a God of War 3 teaser/announcement showed up at E3 given that God of war 2 just came out a few months ago?
Wait a minute, there is a GoW3 teaser coming to E3. Must be a desperate cry for attention. After all GoW2 is only 6 months older than Halo 3. -

Well GoW2 and Halo 3 were only like 6-7 months apart werent they? GoW2 was early 2007 right? Halo 3 was Sept. 2007. Not HUGELY different

As much money as Microsoft made off of Halo 3 it would be silly to think that they won't be creating Halo 4. The Halo franchise is a cash cow and Microsoft will milk it until it runs dry. I highly doubt it will be made anytime soon or even announced anytime soon. I would think Microsoft wouldn't want to take any attention away from Gears 2. I'm probably wrong because I know nothing about business.
As far as playing it... I couldn't be less excited."Befriending new people can lead to having sex with your children, accidentally."

God of War II came out 16 months ago. Halo 3 came out 10 months ago. A bit of a difference. Also, Halo is a WAY bigger franchise than God of War. Whipping it out this early, especially with a hypothetical direct sequel like Halo 4, is definite desperation.
Finally, God of War II's ending is set up for a sequel -- it was meant to be at least a trilogy. Halo 3's ending, and all of the talk about Halo 3, indicated that Halo 3 would be the last in a trilogy, with no direct sequels -- at least anytime soon. Going back on that this soon would be an obvious sign of desperation and change of plans, whereas God of War III is a natural and promised sequel to God of War II.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1
