Agreed. Also: having the Japan editor who lives in Tokyo posting news about American chains in order not to lose the "scoop" is a pretty flawed concept of journalism.

What's wrong with a refurbished unit? I've bought several refurbished pieces of electronics over the years and have no complaints.

Are you that dense? I am saying GAMESTOP has been selling Refurbed 360's for some time, at that price. Which has nothing to do with the KMART ad showing the new price of NEW 360's...How do you not get that???

Gamestop Refurbished = exactly that. Meaning, Gamestop has their own techs that refurbish traded in and defective 360's. They can also just be used units that they cleaned the dust out of, so used = refurbished pretty much. That is the main strategy, but there are also some that are refurbished from defective 360's from Microsoft.

Why wouldn't it be ok? They do not market them as new and are labeled as used/refurbished units.

GameStop also sells refurbished PS3 systems, which makes this argument even more ridiculous.

OK but why would anyone in their right mind buy a used and/or repaired 360 (not even by Microsoft's service) in order to save just 50$? The concept is not bad but the price seems completely unreasonable to me.

Good question. I still don't get how GameStop is able to sell used games for $5 less than a new copy.

I do not know, especially when it can't be repaired under warranty

Does Gamestop offer an extended warranty? Plus don't you get trade in credits for games and other systems? If you use it toward a refurb 360 the cost is lower and if you have their extended warranty you just take it back to a place where you do business on a regular basis.
It makes sense to me if that is how it works.

It makes sense to me if that is how it works.

From what I've heard second-hand, didn't go this far when talking to a Gamestop guy, they only offer a month to return then after that you're S.O.L.

Yea you can get trade-in credit, but if you've ever tried that, you would realize that selling it on craigslist or Ebay yourself will yield 25-50% more money.
