With all the MGS4 threads popping up, we have all forgot one thing that is happening Friday.

R2 WILL DEBUT ON GAMETRAILERS TV

We've already told you that a 7-minute gameplay video for Resistance 2 will debut this Friday, June 13, but we now have the finalized details for all you FPS lovers out there just dying for a closer look at Insomniac's hotly anticipated sequel.

According a press release today, it has been officially announced that Spike TV's GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley (GTTV) will reveal to all the world the aforementioned video that features both single and multiplayer gameplay. It will premiere at 1:00 a.m. ET/PT in full HD, and we will see Sgt. Nathan Hale - returning to the fray once again - and his comrades in their vicious fight against the Chimera, who have now invaded the US.

"We're thrilled to debut the first gameplay footage of Resistance 2 on GTTV. The team's hard work on the game is really paying off, and we're excited to see our fans' reaction to the footage," said Ted Price, CEO and Founder of Insomniac Games. "It's exciting to not only be able to show footage from our single-player campaign, but from our 60-player competitive multiplayer mode, Skirmish, as well."

Without any doubt, this may be the single most anticipated video ever shown on GTTV, and we have the sneaking suspicion their normal viewer numbers will skyrocket after midnight on June 13. PlayStation 3 owners could use a fantastic preview like this, too, especially after the debacle that was Haze.

Coming from a Resistance fan, this is bad timing for Insomniac to release this. How the hell can you expect any hype on the release week of the the PS3's biggest exclusive game?

Didnt even play R1. I didnt buy a ps3 to play 1st person shooters. Sorry but the 360 has more option in that genre and pc blows the 360 out of the water in that genre.

For some reason I doubt anybody on this forum would be surprised to see that from you.

Your opinion seems to be that everything on the PS3 is crap so no big shock you're not interested in R2 or MGS4.

I liked the story of R1 alot. I tried MP but didn't have enough people to play with at the time so never got into that aspect of it (unlike COD4).

I'll probably get it to play the single player story. I agree with others though, this is horrible timing to release this game. Especially with Frogger 2 and Commando 3 being released on XBL.

As it sits now this may be my only PS3 purchase this year. I enjoyed R1...not the best FPS but it was good.

I don't see anything else in the PS3 line up other then this game that intrests me any.
