    If you think PS3 games are too dark you havent got it set up properly.

    If you think PS3 games are lacking vibrancy you havent got it set up properly.
    It's a known fact that different GPU's offer different color and image quality. Look up the differences in ATI and Nvidia.

    This was even made reference to in the "comparisons" towards Oblivion. Most reviewers stated that the visual difference in the games probably had more to do with the GPU's then anything else.

    RGB Full is defaulted to disabled and Super White is off..........Changing these two settings is night and day on clarity, color and vibrance.......Every PS3 owners should change settings if their display supports it (most do).

    RGB Full has to be supported for it to make a difference. Most displays cannot fully display the "enhanced" color spectrum...and what you get is an increased amount of bloom and black crush.

    Also, Superwhite functions on a different channel.

    Either you choose RGB or you choose Y Pb / Cb Pr / Cr.

    Both offer the same function...BLB and WTW.

    BLB= Blacker then Black

    WTW= Whiter then White

    From what I've gathered from various sites is that, until very recently, most HD sets do NOT support the RGB full (or expanded on other devices) settings. Just because some bright things look prettier and the greyness is crushed to a black, people think the picture looks better.

    A large factor in this (it seems) are all the comparisons on a computer screen from capture devices that aren't calibrated like an HDTV should be.

    Again, this was based on what I read when I was trying to tweak my set for all my devices a while ago. It could be all BS by now, but I don't think so. Too many ISF people (or so they claimed on the boards) seemed to feel this way.

    All I know is when I turn RGB full on the screen pops....It looks dull and washed out off (comparitively) , end of story. People who nit pick over the details are missing the forest for the trees.....Sometimes the eye sees things that it shouldn't see.

    Either way, if we are buying this one review, then we also have to buy that the PS3 has superior AA, which is way more important..........Besides, GTA isn't taking place in candy-land, its a dark and dreary inner city, it should have a dark, gloomy and gritty feel. The PS3 colors may be more true to the intentions of the devs.

    Umm, loss of detail if not from proper calibration is a bad thing...it's cool if you enjoy it, because people "perceive" color differently. However, try not to pass off "uncalibrated" as being better then "calibrated" because you choose to be ignorant about it.
