Eurogamer gave it a 7 - and I'd trust them more than most.
Interestingly, the gave Drakes a 9. My PS3 may get its first 'must have', although COD4 is excellent on PS3 too. -

Don't judge the game by reviews only!!
I know I learned that lesson YEARS ago.
I've read bad reviews for a game I thought was great, likewise I've heard good reviews for a game I thought was absolute shit.
I'm picking this game up regardless. Everything about it just screams 'buy me, play me' to me. Different strokes for different folksJose Mourinho, AVB & PDC fanboy - FORCA PORTO!

and that's not saying GT5 is a bad game by any means.. -

So someone on another board said that the mention of the PS3 getting a lower framerate has been removed from the review. I can't check due to web filter at work, so anyone able to confirm? If so, that's an interesting back-pedal by IGN.

Friend on another board posted this.
To rip the before and after quotes from the foh boards -
IGN AC test, this morning :
"These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a severe cost on PS3. There is considerable texture pop-in and noticeable framerate issues. Playing back-to-back with the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it begins to affect gameplay in the later levels. You can get through the first two-thirds of Assassin with the framerate being just an annoyance, but it becomes more of an issue for the final third of the missions".
and now :
"These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a cost. There is considerable texture pop-in and occasional framerate hiccups. None of this deters from the gameplay though, so it is forgivable". -

The PS3 review still has:
I refreshed the page and everything. The cities, as I stated earlier, are truly remarkable pieces of art. These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a cost. There is considerable texture pop-in and, on PS3, considerable framerate issues. Seeing the two versions side by side, there is no question that the PS3 version runs more poorly than the 360. This is most noticeable in the latter stages of Assassin's Creed. Unfortunately, it does eventually begin to affect gameplay.
On another forum, I actually read that they re-edited the review and put it back in. I don't know if there's any truth to any of this, but something odd is going on.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1

So it seems all that's changed is they took out the part that says, "it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition."
So I wonder if IGN got some heat to remove the cut on Ubisoft and caved in. -

Decision made for now...
I ordered the PS3 version last night as I didn't want to pass up the Amazon Gold box deal & the LE that I had originally ordered for the 360 turned out to be a dud from what I hear. I also just bought COD 4 for the 360 which has MP & I have plenty of friends which I will play it with but since this is a SP game I didn't see the need when I can just rent it for some achievement pts later.
Plus I want to see if they take advantage of the PS3's Sixaxis controller...Sony PlayStation 3 80GB via PS3 Component cable
