I only got to play about 20 minutes last night, but so far so good. I was very impressed by the depth of the color. Everything just seems very 'thick' I agree with the fellow above i'd like to see more 360 and ps3 games doing this.
Although Halo 3 did

I will get this on the weekend. Two guys I know picked it up (both in their 30s, both with hdtvs) and they're having a great time playing it.
One said it is a 20 out of 10.I live in East Toronto and am married to a beautiful woman who runs a yoga studio. We have two wonderful kids, boy and girl, two cats and a mortgage that is almost paid off.
I have an HD-A20 and a PS3 but leaned red because the extras did count. Bye Bye HD, you gave it your best, that's all we could ask. Sony, finish your damn product already!
The Numbers: 900+ DVDs (rapidly declining), 34 HD-DVDs (+1 on order, + 5 free), 17 BDs (+2 on order). Last movie: Close Encounters. -

Oops! I thought you were asking everyone for opinions of this game, I didn't realize you intended it to be only for people that loved the game.
And if you disagree that this game looks pretty bad on an HDTV, you've never played a game like R&C or Uncharted on an HD set. It's not at all compareable, all opinion aside, mario galaxy looks like crap on an HDTV set compared to other releases on other consoles. The fact that wii is less powerful does not absolve it of having to meet graphical standards set by its competitors.
Fine tune aiming of the wii-mote reticle seemed nearly impossible, I would move the controller slowly and I could see the reticle hop from point to point on the screen rather than slowly sliding along with my hands motion.
I'm not disputing the other reviews for this game, for someone with a Wii who is in to Mario I'm sure it's great fun. But I'm still unimpressed, it didn't change my mind about the Wii (Although fire emblem might?) and I still would rather have a normal controller instead of the wiimote. -

If you don't like the graphics on Galaxy, I suggest you stay far away from Fire Emblem. They are MUCH worse by comparison. I pick up Fire Emblem for the gameplay not the look.
For the record I own Ratchet and Clank, and I have played the Uncharted demo. I still think Mario Galaxy looks good.
Edit: Playing them all on a Sony Xbr4. Everything looks purdy on this TV. -

Saying the Graphics look like crap, and saying they aren't as good as R&C or Uncharted are two completely different things. Its common sense that a Wii game, in 480p, will not look as awesome on your 1080p TV as a 1080p game will, but that does not mean it automatically looks like Ass either.

I've yet to have an issue with the Wii as far as graphics on my 106" screen. While they don't look sharp, they do look good. Metroid looks amazing. MLB looks good. Sonic and Twilight Princess looked great. Bleach and Naruto look awesome. I suppose I just didn't really care about the graphics as much as having fun. Hopefully Mario Galaxy is the same way, though I probably won't be getting it for awhile.

Its possible that the wiimote was just poorly calibrated, I'm really not sure how the setup/config works for the wii and wiimote.
I was fairly close to the TV (Which is another reason the graphics were so jarringly 480p).
Is the wiimote capable of a smooth tracking motion at all points on the screen? When I played it seemed very jerky in movement and it would jump from point to point, making it seem more like the screen had a 100x100 grid of squares for the reticle to lock onto.
I'm not gonna dispute anyones claims that the game looks good, but I have historically been primarily a PC gamer and lately a console gamer on 1080p outputs, so I'm used to a high level of smoothness and quality of picture through higher resolutions. Maybe I'm a snob, but it is what it is. -

I find that I need to be several feet away from my TV for the wiimote to work well. I think it depends on where you have placed your sensor bar.

Super Mario Galaxy is awesome. Graphical I dont think it looks great and in fact I think it probably looks worse on my hdtv then if I played on a CRT. Anyway, the level design is amazing. Now I dont often buy these type of games but of course Mario can in most cases be an exception. I perfer mature titles but this is an exception I think a lot of people should make. It doesn't break any new ground but it sure makes as one of the best Mario games if not the best ever made!
