You do have to take into account though that roughly half a million of those can be directly correlated to a highly-anticipated exclusive software title. The PS3 could see a similar jump if they get one out like Halo 3, although those numbers would be hard to beat simply placed head to head.

MGS4 will do well but not 4million in a few weeks
GT will do well also but not the same numbers

and if you use Japan as the saving grace for the PS3 with big games... SMG for the wii ( with a larger installed base ) is hitting 150k a week

also i cant see a problem with Halo 3 being the 'BIG' game for the 360, its kinda like the old SNES and MegaDrive days with Mario and Sonic being console sellers and mascots

Well the US is the PS3's weakest market and the 360's strongest. IMO both are selling pretty low, if anything this shows that these systems still need much lower prices if they want to consistently move bigger numbers.

100% fact. The average sales for a GT game is between 9 and 11 million copies. That is gigantic. Add in that the franchise is a decade old and it is even more impressive

360 sales have trebled since Halo3. PS3 sales have gone up 50% since the $400 SKU. The 360 is the king of the software market rigtht now, outselling the PS3 by a factor of 4:1 in the US. This Christmas the 360 should outsell the PS3 by a wide margin.

When games do come out on both platforms the PS3 users don't appear to be that interested in buying.
