Sony first party and some second party games will ALL be hosted on dedicated servers ran by sony. (resistance/warhawk etc..)
Third party games will have to either run their own dedicated servers (this is what EA does on both the 360 and PS3, thats why you sign in EA Nation. etc) , or you connect to other users...i.e. the users are the hosts, so if someone is playing it still, you will still be able to find a game.Xbox Live : AXIOS x117x

I'd LOVE to know how he defines that 0.1 difference. Can I tell a 0.1 difference? I doubt it
(this isn't criticising them saying the PS3 version is better, more mocking the fact that he saw fit to go into minute decimals for rating differentials)
I can see it now... YEAH My game is better! it got 0.1 higher so nur! -

Across the network also applies to 2 users logged onto the network. (i think you're assuming a lot out of that statement) Essentially the boxes are able to host just like a server, i mean a server (especially in sony's case, they use ps3's) is just like another system. Most games can handle the load on an individuals box, when you get to 40+ players you need dedicated servers. Otherwise there is no use.
That's why most games don't use them, that and $$$.XBL: Phil Collins117
