More recent look at the Elite inside.
Good read:
http://benheck.com/07-12-2007/inside-the-xbox-360-elite
I got an elite that was made on 6-26-07 lot 7026 (which i'm told has all the new crap except 65nm).
Since I had some issues with the Halo 3 edition I moved up to an elite (H3's seem to be glorified pro's.... i thought they might go an extra mile on them. It was louder than my refurb when you put in a disc after day 2, and started making a grinding sound when opening and shutting the drive).
But hey it may not be an ultimate solution, but it looks like a pretty good start. Rawk.XBL: Phil Collins117

Just got my pro w/ HDMI, I am assuming it has the same internal guts as the Elite. Shouldn't the Halo version as well?

My pro w/ HDMI is about as loud as my old pro but it feels like more air is flowing around the console, so Im hoping it has the new heat sinks, but the box still gets insanely hot after 20 minutes of playing or so.
Kinda crappy, Im hoping I at least get quality time out of Bioshock and then Halo 3...and at that point the Falcons shoul be out. -

I've had no problems with my elite and it seems quieter than my pro and not as hot.
I've left it on all night downloading movies and demos and no problems.
I also stated before my HD DVD picture looks better via HDMI 1080i vs VGA 1080p!
I don't know why my Samsung 61inch DLP tv can't do 1080p via HDMI but can via VGA. Pisses me off that I was unaware of this when I bought it.
