Greg's cool he's no MS shill. The game is visually stunning but its a bitch to control. I played for only two hours last night. I kept flailing my cotroller around like a wii-mote when it's actually supposed to work like flow where you tilt your hands not your arms. I'm enjoying it so far but then again I haven't got to the toro part yet.

Some of my absolute favorite games have terrible ratings/reviews. I'm taking a chance on Lair and picking it up, mainly because I like the variety I'll have in my collection thus far.

Read your recipt better jerk. I hate when people like you come into my store. 7 days on all unopened merchandise. However chances are if you mention that you wanna pre order something first and then say ohh yeah I wanna return this also. Then they will probably let you do it since you're doing them a favor too. Our bonus's are based on reservations and subscripts sold.
The Sony rep visited every store in our district and has told us we can sell the game whenever we got it in due to a special deal between Sony and Gamestop. -

Well, because I have actually PLAYED it. Just about everyone that has played this title now says Lair is GREAT (not including reviewers)!
That tells me there is something a miss. IGN gave the graphics a 7.5?! That should automatically tell you something right there! The same people that said the graphics were incredible are now saying they are so so? Sound is a 8?! Please! 7.1 UNCOMPRESSED PCM symphonic sound gets a 8?! To even acknowledge that as being accurate after their previous words (graphics and sound quality doesn't go DOWN over time), is to say you can't put clues together.
Just ask SOMEONE THAT ACTUALLY OWNS THE GAME."Yearn to understand first and to be understood second." - Beca Lewis Allen

Fly your dragon really close to an object. A mountain, castle, the ground, anything. Tell me with 100% honesty those textures look impressive. While the game at a distance is impressive, like many games, up close it looks patchy and a mess.
What would you give the graphics of Lair? Futhermore, do me a quick favor and rate Warhawk and Heavenly Sword, just so I see where your standards match up. Because there are a lot of people who say Warhawk looks better than Lair, because the art style is consistant, lacks blurry textures, and maintains a fantastic fps. And of course, HS looks the best out of the 3. So is it that unreasonable to see Lair with the lowest score out of the 3?
You know what? I say we all hop on the WellInformed bandwagon, turn it around, and call anyone who thinks the game IS great a paid viral marketing shill. WellInformed, you have been exposed! Hop on the bandwagon, everyone!Blu-ray's: 234

You are usually a fair person. You try to go by a large number of reviews, but sometimes that can bite you in the ass. When you ASSume that reviewers can't be wrong for whatever reason, that means you basically gave up on thinking for one's self. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to attack you here. Everyone ASSumes things, at times, that doesn't end up being true. This just seems to be your time.
The FACT is that A LOT of people that own and play this game say that it is GREAT! That's all that really counts, right?"Yearn to understand first and to be understood second." - Beca Lewis Allen

Why? Were they all paid off? There are really only three ways to judge a game. 1 -- Read a bunch of reviews, and get the general picture from that. 2 -- Play the demo. 3 -- Play the game. 3 is right out; I'm not spending money on something without having some assurance it'll be good. 2 is the best way, but there is no demo, yet. Therefore, 1 is the only option. If a demo comes out, I can use that to form my own opinion.
I appreciate you trying to be charitable, here, but, frankly, I don't understand what the problem is. A bunch of professional reviewers played the game. Most of them hated it. That's pretty much the end of that story until a demo comes out. When you ASSume that reviewers can't be wrong for whatever reason, that means you basically gave up on thinking for one's self. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to attack you here. Everyone ASSumes things, at times, that doesn't end up being true. This just seems to be your time.
Actually, no. I don't really trust the opinions of most people that bought the game day of release. They tend to be the ones that try their hardest to justify their purchase/pre-order/whatever. No, I'm not absolutely 100% stating that's what you're doing, but you really can't trust day-of-release opinions. The FACT is that A LOT of people that own and play this game say that it is GREAT! First off, this game would have done better if it wasn't put on a pedistal and marked as premium next gen gaming. Which it obviously isn't. Thats not to say the game cannot be enjoyed, but when a mechanic like control is broken in a supposedly AAA title you will have them bringing down the hammer.
Most the people who buy a game the first day will like it no matter what. Hell i even found a way to like two worlds and I wouldn't reccommend that to anyone.
Blue Dragon is good but I can see why they didn't like the first disc. The pacing is off at first. I'd give it an 8 so far. But to trust the opinions of others on a game like lair is stupid. 90% of the players week 1 are fanboys (that goes both ways) so of course they'll forgive anything, or just won't acknowledge problems.
The games broken. IGN doesn't give shitty ratings to excellent games. Heavinly does look the best out of the 3. I'll probably get warhawk sometime next month when I have time. This month i'm booked. But i'm glad to see warhawk doing well after its first reviews coming in were lackluster.XBL: Phil Collins117

...those magazine titles sound just a tad bit biased to me...
