Of course they did, theyre the only ones promoting it.
Had they promoted Shadowrun it woulda gotten a 20/1
-_-V
GI sucks. They trash warhawk but love blue dragon -_-
So they hate ONLINE ONLY games, but love SINGLE PLAYER games.
Makes sense. Kill xbox live.. no wait. -

The person who reviewed this game must not have had his balls drop yet. This game looks too kiddy. 360 should focus on FPS and not Nintendo like RPG's.

And yet they have this to say about it.
So apparently people who play RPGs do it for the combat, character growth, and exploration? The core mechanics are presented with a high level of polish, but Blue Dragon lacks the jaw-dropping moments to make it legendary. It is immensely fun to play, but there is a hard-to-define spark missing from the story and events. The plot is by no means a flop; the trials of Shu and company and their conflict against the evil Nene (who simply enjoys witnessing the suffering of others) are relayed with a great deal of intrigue and humor. The tone will even shift unexpectedly from lighthearted to macabre, but there just isn’t much in terms of surprises.
It is difficult to place too much fault on a game for not shattering storytelling conventions, especially since Blue Dragon feels like a well-oiled RPG machine in the way it integrates combat, character growth, and exploration.
More than anything else, RPGs are their story. I've always been of the opinion you can't have a good RPG without a good story, and you can't have great RPG without a great story.
The combat in Grandia Xtreme was superb. One of the best systems I've ever seen in an RPG. Gameplay overall was great with a lot of good ideas in there. Yet the game, rightfully so, got pretty poor ratings. It deserved them because the story wasn't very good. -

Whatever. It's at 80 in MetaCritic, and, together with that lame demo, that tells me everything I need to know. I want a great next-gen JRPG as much the next guy, and this is clearly not it.

People like you shouldnt be allowed to voice there opinions online. Honestly a kid would have more trouble playing this than they would playing something like Halo. One this game requires a higher reading comprehension skill. Plus there is alot more logic and problem solving skills needed for Blue Dragon as where an fps you'd just kill something.
GI is pretty fair in its ratings too. -

Actually yes, almost all rpgs have generic crappy stories now adays. So these highlighting factors matter alot to current old school rpgs players. Its these new school kids who love crappy story lines. But if they like medoicore story lines then this game will appeal to them anyways.
Not true at all. I mean Chrono Trigger has a weak story but the way its told and the way it plays saves it it and makes it one of the greatest games to play.
Grandia Xtreme didnt just suffer from a bad story it had tons of other bad factors that made it a crappy game. The only good thing that it had was its battle system. You can have a good rpg with a weak story you just need to have everything well rounded.
I think you over estimate how stupid the general public has become. Its why rpgs are a dying niche game gerne now. -

Are you kidding? Chrono Trigger had one of the best story lines of it's time. Interesting characters, plot twists, good dialog. You'll find few games with a better story in that era.
A dying genre of which dozens of games come out for it a year and you frequently get multi million sellers from that genre.I think you over estimate how stupid the general public has become. Its why rpgs are a dying niche game gerne now. -

I'm going to pick up my copy tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it, although i'm not really expecting it to be microsoft's answer to final fantasy. I enjoyed the demo, however, and think it's going to turn out really good.
