PS3 Newbie
I had my Panasonic working just fine, until one day two weeks ago, it just... well, stopped working just fine anymore.
And so I made the monumental (an underused word, in my book) decision to buy.......... a PS3. You see, this way, I thought to myself, will be great if I ever decide to get into video games again. (I'd played Jedi Forces II and Doom 3 like a mental patient, but that was about it.)
so anyway, skip two weeks forward to this day, right here, right now. I have seven video games: MW3, Max Payne 3, Wolfenstein, Dead Space 2, GTA IV (the edition that includes all the stories), Tiger Woods 13, and Rage. I'm patiently waiting for Madden 13 on Aug. 28th (as well as Boardwalk Empire!!!!!! but that's for another forum) and DOOM 3: BFG EDITION in mid-Oct. (i'm a sucker for the film adaptation too; haters, go on and have your field day with that one)
bottom line: unless you can't live w/out the f*cking Halo series, why on earth would you get a system that lacks BD capability and pretty much all the same games, plus PS3-specific games that sell well also (I check amazon regularly; yes, I'm nerdy and geeky like that)???
my little brother has an xbox. he plays the exact same games as I do; the only differences are twofold: 1) he can and does play Halo, and 2)...... wait, I can't think of any other reason.
so what did I do? being the sweet, humble gentleman that I am, I gave him my Panasonic BD player (last year's edition) so he could start a BD collection. (Why? because Blu-ray. simply. reigns. supreme.)
now he has a BD player stacked on top of a fat unwieldy Xbox structure, along with 20 million power cords and other related accessories.
I have in my room a beats by dre portable boom box (thought i'd mention it just cuz I recently bought it and it's so damn tempting to name drop one's personal expensive sh*t), a 32 inch vizio 3d tv (I know, it could be a whole lot better), a vizio hi-def sound bar (I. LIVE. FOR. AUDIO. PERFECTION. [and this comes close]), a Roku 2XD, and... a PS3.
and ya know what? I like it.
So there you have it: an overly-long, extraordinarily self-indulgent, clearly-written-by-a-neurotic, almost-confession-sounding piece of rubbish writing. to those who read this, thank you, and please accept my apologies.
(oh and one more thing: your guys' site is f*cking sick and I'm not gonna stop givin you props for that. keep it up.)
peace and love, peace and love.

The Forza, Gears, and Fable franchises; the Mass Effect Trilogy, XBLA exclusives, CoD and Bethesda times dlc exclusivity. Not to mention other random exclusives such as Alan Wake, Lost Odyssee, Child of Eden, and Crackdown 1.
Both systems are fine, neither one has a big leg up on the other at this point.
Cute the way you made it seem like Halo is all 360 has, though. -

Why play on the 360? The superior controller is all the reason I need.

I would think another factor is if I want to play games with my friends, we'd all need to have the same system. So if they have 360s, I'm getting a 360, not a ps3. Or vice versa- if they have ps3's I'm getting a 360. Assuming that exclusive content isn't a factor.
