wow. such anger. I guess it is a smack down. And seriously, I do appreciate everybody abiding by the no-personal-attack rules. Like, I admitted I have severe OCD in a post, and normally that is taken, ran with, and finally used to pummel me.

back to smack down comments: and congrats to the ps3 haters. enjoy that non BD and BD3D capable giant unwieldy gaming system known as Xbox!

I do enjoy my 360. I also enjoy my Samsung 3D blu-ray player on my Samsung 3DTV.
Best of both worlds.

Well, when it comes to games and gamers... I'd say pretty knowledgeable. As for relevant? Fairly. It's funny that you feel that quote is directed at you, though.

Almost as funny as your claim that what makes the PS3 a better gaming system is, well... that it can play movies.

And no personal attacks have been uttered, nor have the words dick rider been mentioned in this thread.

K. Johnson, let me see if I can help you out here by putting some things in perspective.

There was a time when this forum was quite active. A bunch of people from the video disc format wars came over here and fought about things. Feelings were hurt, people were banned, entire reaction forums were formed to poop on people here while banned. Over time, this activity level became lower and lower. People were banned for dumbassery, people came back as socket puppets, people got banned again, people got bored, news became slow.

Now there are, like, 10 people that even really look at this board. They've had every argument to be had about the topic 10 times over.

What you did, not that there's anything wrong with it, was make a post that looks like something from 2008. Back then you would've 20 people on your ass, and another 20 people defending you and the PS3 vigorously. This topic really would have 20 pages by now.

The reaction you see instead is that of old, grizzled smackdowners who've been everywhere and seen everything and who have nothing to live for except maybe the fabled next generation. Half the insults aren't even insults but references to some ancient meme from this board (e.g., the dickrider thing).

Hell, you are probably the first new poster who's not a shameless sock puppet (I assume) to have graced us for... a year? 2? Therefore your topic here is almost "cute." That's the reason for the cryptic, semi-hostile response you're getting.

If you're looking to find out what to do with your PS3, or why the 360 is a great console, I recommend the Game Room. Looking at your post there is a wealth of entertainment for you to discover... people can help with that.

This thread reminds me of when bbc20000 (or was it mstrbass2000) .. some 2000 guy switched to PS3 from 360.. he’d start these kind of threads..

Anywho, smackdown was fun when Xbox and PS3 were jockeying back and forth, lobbing megatons (FFXIII, PS3 Slim), NPDs could go either way and the outcome was more in question. As it is, both systems will end up around the same amount of sales and industry support.. kinda boring actually.. as we wait for the next round of sequels to come out this fall..
