I would have loved to get the game, but after seeing so many online only games tank after 3 months, I'm staying away from any online games. There's just no value in the game anymore once the player base evaporates, then the game is worthless. Maybe if the game had a stronger single player aspect to it, I might have bought it, but all these online only games or games like Diablo that force you to connect to them all the time, fuck that, I'm done.

Kind of a tangent, but whatever:

I've been playing Killzone 3 the last couple of weeks and finally got a little time to check out the online stuff. Just wanted to jump in and pick up some trophies really, but I was surprised to find there are still a lot of people playing that game. I guess Sony putting out the multiplayer part as a stand alone purchase on PSN really helped. I think it helps too that they can't trade the download in at Gamestop for the new COD or whatever is hot at the moment.

It's kind of scary - I'm enjoying Killzone so much I'm thinking I might buy the DLC and keep playing it even after I get the last two trophies I'm chasing. I _never_ play online MP games anymore, but I'm digging this.

Check the price for the DLC because the MP only version on PSN includes all the DLC. Might be cheaper to just the PSN MP only version.

Or by now if you don't own the hardware, you probably aren't going buy it no matter what game is announced.

Are we expecting another price drop? I need a new blu ray player for my downstairs tv. Was just going to get the cheapest blu ray player I could find, but if the PS3 drops again, I may get another of them for it. Might be kind of cool to be able to play with the kids but not have to use split screen.

They bundled all three map packs together for $10. Kinda sucks that so many of them are KZ2 maps, but I didn't play enough of that game anyway, so it works for me.
