    Default No more Major Nelson....

I'm pretty sad about this. I haven't watched his show at all since they changed the interface, who knows, maybe that's why viewership dropped off.

It's almost like they should charge for their online service or something so they can keep these video shows on. Sony ran into the same problem. Just not enough revenue to go around!

OR the IGN videos that are plastered everywhere are redundant and usually of better quality in comparison to the Inside Xbox videos. Now that IGN has their own app that is free, why offer two of the exact same services talking about the exact same video games and video game related news?

I did prefer Major Nelson to Jessica Chobot, so if they're redundant, it's not in the way of the person providing the feedback.

They can always use the slot for another ad now I suppose.

"Major Nelson" is still with Microsoft / Xbox.. Just Inside Xbox is done.. I did like when he would unbox new hardware bundles, but I didn't watch it much otherwise..

Yeah I thought he completely left MS for a second which seemed unthinkable.

Never watched the series to be honest

Well as far as I know that's the only capacity in which he functioned. If he does do other stuff, I wouldn't know.

According to RRS, “Inside Xbox” videos were ads.

He’s the mouthpiece for Xbox on the social side (blog, twitter, podcast). Not sure if “Community Relations” is his official title, but something like that.

    He never said that.

Anyway, like I said in the random game room, I watched these shows pretty regularly until the new dashboard. I want to interact with that pos as little as possible. I also hated some of the newer ones they did like the two focusing on Kinect and Windows phone apps.

One thing they do now, I noticed, is they have these platform wars, like "Xbox is better than Playstation." That's nerdy to me. What the fuck is the matter with you?

    Less advertising? Impossible.

He considered highlighting available content to be advertising, and certainly "Inside Xbox" did a lot of that.

No, he said the things that are basically a box saying "Hey, this is a thing, come/go buy it." were ads, which they are. While some of the videos, like the phone apps one, were basically that, things like xbox 101, major's minute, the OXM one, Tina Talk or whatever it was called, and the tip video weren't. "Highlighting available content" is just a bullshit way of trying to argue the new dashboard isn't filled with ads.

No, what I said was ads was:

    - Dance Central songs!
    - Watch UFC 344112!
    - 25% sale off all TV shows!
    - 30% off Christmas sale!
    - etc.
    - Kia Sportage.
    - etc.

Which of course they are. (Those are all actual examples from that time back then, by the way.)
