While I agree Home as it is now probably won't be coming over, given the money Sony seems to make off of it I'd think something similar will be in the cards.
This is of course assuming it still makes them decent money. We haven't really heard any numbers touted about it for a long time. -

Ouch, so they're cutting stuff that they have to maintain that doesn't get enough interest? How about PSN Home? That next?

Could? Shit, we've been witnessing that for the last few years.
I never watched any of these video services, but I know a few who did on occasion. Personally, I look at too much video game shit during the day at work. These video services are for people that dont have such a luxury (janitors, cabbies etc).
Also, Home > xbox anything. -

Agree with Analog - we've been watching it for a while. But I agree overall. Sony is going to undergo some serious changes in the next couple of years. A lot of business units will probably be sold off and a lot of people will be out of work. I'm confident the PlayStation brand as a whole will carry on making good products, but I won't be the least bit surprised if any other part of Sony simply ceases to exist.

I think your figures are off. They lost $6 billion over all of last year (with a lot of that being write downs, aka not a loss of cash or tangible assets).
Nevertheless, yes - they're moving violently in the wrong direction. Time will tell if Hirai can rebound the company. It's almost certain that there will be a spinoff of major divisions, and a cessation of lots of smaller product lines or services. Being japanese and holistic, I wouldn't be surprised if they instill a sense of "we all must bear this burden" and place some of the financial burden (and cost cutting) on the entertainment divisions.

Back in the late 70's Bill Gates struck a deal with the devil to take over the Vatican and destroy Sony. Now, in 2012, their plan is finally coming to fruition, and all is proceeding as they have foreseen!
The ApocalyPS3 was merely the beginning....

Something interesting said today by Kaz
Hmmm putting an emphasis on PSN subs. I would bet anything they go the MS route and charge for online next gen. Too much money there not to.On the games front, the company plans to increase sales through PSN subscriptions and downloadable content, along with expanding the PlayStation Suite lineup and its compatible devices. For all of Sony's problems, the games division seems to be the least of its worries. -

I wouldn't doubt it, and I'm half-way expecting it, but I'm also half-way expecting for basic online play to still be free next gen with things like cross-game chat, demos etc coming at a charge. I also see a much bigger push on their online passes, with it coming to each and every game.
