"Pretty good smack" without even singling anyone out, and then just basing your entire argument off of "we're making a new engine - other people haven't in a long time"?......

We're not going to make ends meet on this. You're an entrenched COD fan, and so you want to take a side-car argument like Riccitello's advertising puffery, blow it up on the forum, and use it as an excuse to rip apart a game (posting pictures of bus wheel-wells) which sold millions and scored very well.

Your position is clear, and I have already stated why I think it's total BS. And given your position on COD, if you didn't have your Riccitello arguments, it would certainly just be something else. To you, this is all a big deal while, to me, this is like the bullshit soundbytes you see on the magazines in the grocery store checkout aisle, of no consequence.

So, enjoy your show -- we won't be working this one out.

Edit: as I ended up typing more than I wanted, I'll allow you the parting shots on this one since I think it's unfair to say "okay, here are all my points, now were done!"

Dice has no room to talk. The single player is fucking terrible and the co-op is turgid and stale. Multiplayer is excellent, sure, but they have been hyping their SP for months.

They know what's about to happen on Tuesday.

EA has called a truce in its war of words with bitter franchise rival Call of Duty.

In a new interview with IGN, EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund said, "We all respect what Call of Duty brings and what they're going to come with. Right now we're out in the market, and that's all I know. When they come out, they come out, and I wish them the best of luck. They're partners in this industry, and I play all their games and I look forward to many of them, and all I can do is try and make sure that people stay interested and want to have more Battlefield."

In the past, EA has taken a far more aggressive stance in its competition against Modern Warfare 3. Back in April, EA CEO John Riccitiello said Battlefield 3 was "designed to take that game down" when referring to the new Call of Duty game, and added that "we think we have the better product."

EA Games president Frank Gibeau similarly said that "everybody loves a heavyweight fight, and that's what this is going to be. We're here to compete." The company even launched an "Above and Beyond the Call" ad campaign, clearly aimed at Call of Duty.

Our full interview with Soderlund, featuring more on Battlefield 3's successful launch and future plans, will be released later today.

Eat your heart out EA, you can't compete with Bobby Kotick's money machine in delivering a commercial with 'star power.'

That commercial is pretty awesome in my opinion.

I paid off MW3 on PS3 today. I got 82 bucks for trading in BF3 at Gamestop. So... I'm happy.

    Explain.

On a side note, the commercial is so goofy it's just....whatever. If only big Jonah Hill was in this commercial....

I was only supposed to get 41, but because it was two disks, Gamestop fucked up and did it twice for me. I was on my way home when I noticed, and I went back and told them. their words:
That was our mistake. We wont take any away from you. We'll re-do the trade and increase the values to get the 200 bucks. (I traded in five games total.)

So. I went home a happy gamer.

The commercial would be even more awesome if the game behind it was worth playing (IMO). LOL. I'll light up MW if I want the CoD "experience". Once you go full-scale war, going back to corridors and last-gen graphics just seems wrong and sad.
