Xbox 720 to Exceed Current PC Tech

With the "720" not looking like a 2012 release, I decided to hop on the best buy 150$ refurb slim 250GB bundle today

Now that I own two 360's and play ME3 like its a job, it's about time I defect to MAD.

What's kept you on the ME3 MP so long? I'm a huge ME nut but I stopped in early April.

I had to stop, its the best horde mode ever released because of the variety of play styles. But I was impulse buying too many of those spectre packs.

ME3 horde mode is just done so exceptionally well. I stopped leveling random characters and settled on farming gold level missions for 70k credits apiece with Quarian infiltrator. Playing with randoms actually keeps it fresh for me as I never know what I'm going to get. Finish an entire match with zero deaths or wipe within minutes of the first round? The two new maps a couple weeks ago were nice but it desperately needs new objectives.

Presuming diablo 3 and Max Payne 3 will drag me away, however.

Nothing new. He's always spent plenty of time on his 360. He made the cardinal sin of publicly declaring some enjoyment of his ps3 and was slapped with a label from then on.

Im not sure Diablo 3 rises to the snobbery council qualifications. It's not very demanding. It's certainly above the Blinx Council though.

True, but it has to be 60+fps while running FXSAAAAAAAAAAA16 and MSAAA123344 512 bit. Blinx is going to attempt it on his integrated graphics chip. The fire department is on standby.

I wonder when they say "Xbox 720 is going to exceed current PC tech" if they mean current tech right now? I mean the GTX680 is a pretty potent fucking GPU. It would be quite stellar to have that kind of a chip in a console.

So just going to throw this out there:

Does the new MS 360 bundle that is cheap up front, but subsidized with a monthly subscription plan make you wonder if they might try something similar with the next gen console? If they're selling a $300 360 bundle for $99, but with a two year plan @ $15 a month, it makes me wonder if next holiday they offer the Xbox 3 for $599 with no agreement, or $349 with a two year plan. I'm sure it would still be more than the cost of the stand alone console, but for those price sensitive folks it would spread the cost out over a longer period of time.

Do you think it's possible the additional revenue created by this sort of subscription plan subsidized console could allow them to put a little more horsepower in it? Isn't that how the cell phone industry works? I agree with michealo the original statement is silly, but it makes me wonder if this might mean the difference between 4GB of RAM instead of 2GB or something similar. Thoughts?

Missing the "integrated cpu/gpu" between Current and PC. That makes it all seem doable and reasonable

This is a good way to clear inventory of an old model before the new one comes out. I doubt the new model will come out in 2 years... so your looking at folks who are locked into a contract with the old model when the new version comes out.

No no no. Go back and read my post that he was quoting - I said Xbox 3 for $349 with two year agreement, or $599 no agreement. That's what he was responding to.
