Well, considering that RRS's point, in context, was that sales matter as far as the epeen smackdown contests, it seems that "Context" is a valid card to play, when someone tries to take RRS's stance in that thread out of context. =)

maybe because context doesn't appear to be your strong suit?

Strange because it was said "on this board" in a thread about sales, just like this one. So somehow it applied to that thread but not this one? One is MS sales one is Sony sales. Somehow that statement only applies to a thread about MS sales but not the Sony one. Great logic.

Yep.
Obviously out of context. As I very clearly and repeatedly explained in that thread (even eliciting an explicit agreement from CorruptedDragon himself): I said that few people care about sales in the sense that it affects their actual enjoyment of games/life. However, of course, people "care" about sales in that they'll have ePenis contests about it on message boards to pass the time.
CD is just being deliberately obtuse in yet another fruitless search for hypocrisy; that's all. He himself agreed with me on this in the other thread eventually.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1

No. You're just deliberately ignoring the same explanation you openly acknowledged in the other thread.
Sales "matter" on this forum, in that a big part of the point of smackdown forum is to have ePenis contests about stupid shit like sales. That applies to both threads -- this one and that one. There's no double standard, as much as you love to pretend there is.
This is no way contradicts the undeniable fact that 99.99% of people, including posters on this forum, do not care about sales in any practical sense as it actually physically affects them.
Few people really give a shit about sales. But of course sales discussions -- REGARDLESS of which corporate entity looks better in a particular instance -- are completely fair-game in a lame ePenis contest-oriented subforum such as this one.Receiver: Denon 3808CI / Remote: Logitech Harmony 1

Fall 2008. Like I said, supposedly, the 360 was leading many of the European markets following its price cut in 2008. Of course, after the PS3 Slim came out, Sony was leading again. I never claimed the 360 was outselling the PS3 this year with the exception of the United States, which is obviously quite true, and likely now, following the release of the Slim. And as for the Slim 360, obviously, it's doing great in the UK. There's no numbers elsewhere, but I don't think it's that big of a stretch to say that right now, the 360 is probably leading for the moment whether it be redesign or discounted prices.
And I have no idea how you extracted the fact that I said worldwide sales gap was opening. No. You completely ran away with my point and made something else out of it. What has happened, is that MS got a gap of somewhere around 10 million, then Sony started closing the gap following the release in Europe, and then again in Late 2007, and then in Fall 2008, following the price cut, MS opened the gap again. Then the PS3 Slim came out, and then the gap closed again. I'm not sure where I ever stated the gap has opened up, other than within a certain period (early 2007, Fall 2008).Don't Reach, Young Blood

Well, obviously the sim market is niche, so i only expect GT5 to get about 14 million this time.
