Don't know much about this game but I saw in the news that it has been banned here in the UK and now also in Ireland.

This is why I really dislike Europe.
It irks me when people tell me what I can and can't buy, I don't know why you Europeans allow your government to do that too you.
The only good thing coming out of all of this is that Take Two is getting lots of publicity, and a fair amount is mentioning that GTA IV is coming out soon.Try out the simExchange beta.

Mind you what might worry Sony owners is the Sony statement of:
Guess any particularly graphic games will be toned down for the Sony versions or not released at all.Currently it's SCE's policy not to allow the playback of AO rated content on our systems. -

usually, you really have to be pretty over the top to get an AO rating though. one of those gaming sites i was reading through listed the titles that had previoudly gotten an AO rating... and yeah, i couldn't really disagree. they were pretty blatantly sex oriented, like LSL: magna cum laude - uncut and uncensored, and whatnot.
it would be refreshing if unremitting violence were no longer given a free pass in this society in entertainment. don't get me wrong, i loves my violent games, but i see no reason that boobies are somehow more harmful to a child than seeing 50 nazis get gunned down with gory blood spray.
does that mean i think manhunt 2 should be banned, etc etc? no. it sounds pretty mind-f*cking and gory, and not my thing, and shouldn't be sold to kids, but banned? no.Can't you recognize bullsh*t? Don't even get me started on that...
It irks me when the US tells me what I can and can't buy too, they just don't seem to do it as often, or on things that I actually want, if I lived in Europe I would be dealing with things I want that the government says I can't have.Try out the simExchange beta.

Not really, I can own firearms, I can buy violent videogames, within the privacy of my own house I can do just about whatever I want.
The European Legal System is a bit more draconian about most of those things, I'll take a couple restrictions on Drug Laws (I don't use drugs, but that doesn't mean I want the government telling me what I can and can't do) over all the other restrictions the European Governments put on their people.Try out the simExchange beta.

Yeah, Take2 has problems. They just laid off people in Europe and closed their New York office.

Video games are the new boogey man, just like 'video nasties' in the 80's.
What annoys me is the amount of times i've seen an adult buy an unsuitable game for a child, you see them all the time, pretending that the 18 rated game in their hand is not for the 12 year old standing next to them. -

Yeah... gotta love it!
Heh... this only happens because of unknowing parents who just buy their kids anything they want. I'm sure if the cashier said something like "Oh, this game is for 18+ year olds" I'm pretty sure that parent would not buy it.
Unless that kid was a spoiled brat. That tends to happen often, though.Returned for a visit to this forum, only to find the usual crappy suspects here. -

"this only happens because of unknowing parents who just buy their kids anything they want"
I know, but it really annoys me, they should be better informed about the material they are letting their kids play.
I remember the furore over GTA, i saw a woman on daytime TV, complaining that if she had known about the violence, she would'nt have bought it for her young son. I would have thought that the big red 18 on the box might have given her a clue.
It's these morons that end up getting games banned.
I don't want to play manhunt 2, but i should'nt have that choice removed entirely.
