I saw it today, and it really is over hyped. It was a great movie, but it wasn't nearly as scary as I have been hearing. I ended up laughing a lot more that I thought I would. The only part that gave me the chills was the ending. I could see how it would be scary if you were watching it alone though. Overall I would say it was a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

I really enjoyed it, lots of tension and a great atmosphere which kept you wondering what was going to happen next. The theater experience is almost necessary for this film though, it was easily one of if not the best movie going experience ever. The theater is just crazy, ive never heard so many people scream.

This movie continues to gain momentum. Talk about a huge profit.

Same here, saw this in the theater last night. The audience (packed) was so freaked out and some chicks (tweens) were actually crying after the movie (LOL), but it didn't affect me too much. But I must say, I had the WORST sleep ever through the course of the night. Mind starts wandering.....terrible, ha ha! Very effective movie. I thought it was quite well done.

i think this movie is better if you don't watch any of the trailers, and not now whether it was real or not, which is how i saw it.
i think it was well made, and kind of creepy. It is better if you watch this in the movies or with a group of people wen the dvd gets out."I kick ass for the Lord!"- Father McGruder

I couldn't disagree with you more on seeing this in theaters. I watched it today and while I did enjoy it and found it unsettling (especially the end) the whole experience was RUINED due to obnoxious, loud, rude, idiots in the theater. They would talk and laugh all through the movie, especially the scary parts.
It's funny how lots of people handle being scared by just starting to talk loudly to the screen. Forget that there are other people who paid good money to see this, YOU are the only ones in the theater I guess. People are as a rule fucking morons especially in theaters. I should have waited and bought this on blu-ray. That way my first experience with it would have been good and I would have been totally creeped out, instead, I was mildly creeped out and more just pissed off at humanity in general.Epson 1080UB, PS3 and 161" Draper Screen...pure theater bliss!

I think this one will be really effective for me if I watch it on Blu-ray and listen to it with my Sennheiser 595s. Still might see it in the theater, though.
