Default Shia Labeouf possibly getting a finger amputated???

I know this is Star but hey ya never know. Sucks for him if true. He's a drinker now but if he loses a finger, than they better be watching him

Star is reporting that Shia LaBeouf called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen producers yesterday, to inform them that he may need to amputate one of his injured fingers. Shia injured his hand in a West Hollywood car accident on July 27th. I’m hearing that LaBeouf’s injury has caused a lot of havoc on the production. I can only imagine if doctors do decide to amputate Shia’s pinky finger, it would probably be impossible to shoot and edit around. Last week Bay was telling reporters that they were trying to figure a way to work it into the story: “His two fingers are pretty mashed,” Bay told Access Hollywood. “But we’re figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it in the story.” But one must remember that Hollywood does not shoot a film in sequential order. I’m not sure how it would be possible to write an injury into the story without major reshoots.

So, since the crash wasn't his fault does that mean the guy who caused it has to pay for all of the surgery and all of the money the studio is loosing every day they postpone shooting...As well as the re-shoots, re-writing, and damages for Shia losing his finger??? Sucks for him!

I hate to hear that. He is one of my favorite young actor's. I know he like's to party and drink a lot but he's just a kid. What do you expect? Modern medicine is pretty amazing and I'm sure he has the best money can buy. Hopefully they can fix him and he will make a full recovery.

As long as none of the robots gets hurt the film should be ok. Humans are a dime a dozen.

Outside of this movie there's actually "finger prostetics" that look stunningly real and attach either with suction and a ring to cover the seam or even a bandaid... a body of mine lost a pinky in an auto accident and has one. No one even knows it's fake.

Ditto. Would love to see Transformers cast someone else in his place. Anybody.

This is a an issue for Shia, no doubt, but his more serious issue driving while intoxicated is what needs to be addressed more than anything. If he has to have a finger amputated, that is going to be a difficult thing for a young man to deal with. He can live and he can lead a normal live with that. He can't lead a normal live and likely can't live if he is going to be a drunk driver often. This accident wasn't his fault, but who knows if he could have avoided it if he wasn't impaired. I have been driving for over 40 years and avoided a lot of close calls by being alert, sober and reacting promptly, including avoiding being hit by cars running red lights. It is all speculation at this point and I hope he can avoid losing a finger and even make a full recovery with full use of his hand, but getting sober will have a far greater positive impact.

Chris

Bay already stated there is plenty to do without Shia, so there was no need to postpone anything..

I for one like Shia, he is a likeable person on camera for me anyways and his acting is not bad.. Its much better then most of todays young actors, and as long as he gets good roles I will continue to support and watch him..

Maybe Bay will make something comical out of it. Such as Shia having the door slammed on his hand or Bumblebee stepping on his hand or the dog bit it. Something will fix it, not a big issue.

Yeah, I highly doubt a non-technical (aka human) malfunction could ever derail a Bay movie. They'll recast Shia with a stick of dynamite or something.

Al Franken and Megan Fox is about as believable as Shia and Megan Fox, so I don't see the difference. At least Al Franken is funny.
