Default Evil Dead 4

I recently read that Sam Raimi is planning on doing another Evil Dead movie, and, of course, recasting Bruce Campbell as Ash. (duh) Any thoughts on this? Personally I really don't see the need to do another one. Originally I was gung-ho about the idea, but some years have passed and now it's kind of a meh situation. Not everything needs to have another sequel, especially after 10+ years down the road. Army of Darkness ended just fine, but I guess if they continued from the alternate ending there could be a story. IDK, just tired of seeing sequels and remakes galore all the time from movies that don't need them.

No... that's only PART correct... The remake of "The Evil Dead" is a green-lighted remake of the 1st film that is only going to be PRODUCED by Sammy, not Directed... and Bruce Campbell is not penned to be in it at all... matter of fact they plan on not having the Character ASH in it at all because if you try to replace Ash with another actor that's just plain sacreligious, and Bruce is a little older now to play the youth in the woods ordeal... so taking the 1st movie into effect where Bruce was only a minor character anyway, they're doing away completely with the Ash character for it.

Now how GOOD or big budget it's gonna be is up in the air, but I think you can probably expect a slightly different interpretation of it... similar to Dawn of the Dawn by Romero and the Dawn of the Dead remake... both were awesome, but not much in common other then a Mall. Both of these should probably end up awesome.. just the similarities is the Necronomicon and a Cabin in the Woods.

Planned for release in 2009.

Yeah, I've heard about the remake. No Ash? Doesn't sound like an Evil Dead movie to me. Anyway, he said at Comic-Con that Evil Dead 4 is in the wheelhouse, and he'd love to bring Bruce back in. Also talks about writing the script with his bro Ivan. Google Evil Dead 4 and you'll read all about it.

Evil Dead remake would be terrible. The ghetto-ness of it makes it so awesome. If they remade it it would be just stupid. I would rather have a 4th than a remake.

Agreed. If they were do remake it with a big budget, it would just fall into the mix of the thousands of silly horror films made every year.

I also think they should do Evil Dead 4, and not a remake of 1. I'd love to see what other crazy shenanigans Ash gets himself into after waking up in the future (Army of Darkness Director's Cut ending).

Of course, following the tradition of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, they would have to start the film flashing back to the previous ones, though change what characters were there and the events that actually occurred

If it does not have Ash
It won't get my Cash!

On a lighter note They Call Me Bruce is coming out this year, it stars the MAN, Bruce Campbell as himself in a situation where they need Ash.

I don't know if a remake would get me out to see it, but a new one most likely would.
