Default Anyone Seeing Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor This Weekend?

Looking forward to this; Jet Li looks like he's gonna kick ass in this again, as usual; interesting concept of an Orient-themed mummy story. The odd thing is, though, that Universal brought Rob Cohen on board for this...where's Stephen Sommers? Was he not interested? Has Cohen done anything since Fast and the Furious?

Stephen Sommers is doing GI Joe--so that's a no.

The last thing Rob Cohen directed was Stealth, so no, Cohen has not done anything substantial since "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story".

Plus when Weitz ops out of it you know that's a hint and half for your ass that something is seriously lacking in it. I'm hoping that Frasier doesn't Over-Act in it... Summers directed him perfectly in the 1st two, but I've seen other movies where he OverActs (Center of the Earth Trailer) and it just comes off too hokey and fake.

Summers is doing G.I.Joe obviously and that's not even hitting the Theaters until August 7th, 2009!! So you can see He'll be occupied for a while.

Journey is a kids movie and he did a good job in it, yes he over acted, but with those summer fun movies you cant take yourself too seriously as an actor or else your target audience wont care much for it.. For what was there to work with, he did a good job..

With the new Mummy, it looks cheese-tastic.. I am not expecting much, but if it can entertain me than I will be happy and it will be $40 well spent....

Ill probably go see it. The mummy movies are really the only movies where Brendan Fraser actually kind of plays a serious role. I like him serious (I havent see the air I breath yet) I think he should do more serious role.

Oh yeah, that's right -- XxX and Stealth; two bombs IMO from Cohen.

The only returning cast member from the other Mummys is Frasier and the brother, correct? Or are there more? Looking forward to it. Watched Mummy Returns last night to get into the spirit!

Oh, and am I to understand there's going to be a GI JOE FILM?

I like Mummy movies, but I am going to sit this one out. Will be a renter for me.

Instead, this weekend I am going to see the greatest actor in the world...Kevin Costner in Swing Vote.

"Look, ya had to walk in Columbus' shoes and see what he went through. People thought the world was flat, for cryin' out loud. Then he lived on an island with a bunch a naked savages on it, I mean, that took a lot of guts. You remember when we went to Florida - the heat? And those bugs?......He discovered America is what he did. He was a brave Italian explorer. And in this house Christopher Columbus is a hero. End of story!" - Tony Soprano

Weisz is cool but ain't all that. They replaced her with Maria Bello, another actress that's been in cool shit.

I'm going because I have a free ticket. But I probably would have seen it anyway.

(I love best buy, I paid $5.50 for the Darkman trilogy and got a free $7.50 ticket for Mummy 3! What a country.)
