    The Twilight Samurai

    4 1/2 out of 5

It brought a tear to my eye. Only wished it looked better. For a 2002 film, it looks like it was made in the 80's and spent it's time being covered in Vaseline.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

Really enjoyed this one. Thought it was better than the first. I hope they make a third, but I could also be quite happy with this being the last. I think they have a few more in them, as long as they can keep the chemistry up.

I enjoyed the more direct homosexual tension. It was amusing.

    4 out of 5.

I also watched my BD copy of Legend today. Still enjoy the film, flaws and all.

Over the last while, I've been working on a run through of the entire 9 season run of The X-Files. Just finished Season 5 last night, and watched The X-Files: Fight the Future, which I'd seen a few times before (including in theatres.) I still really like it.

I grew up watching the show, but ended up missing some of the later episodes and stopped watching it because I didn't want to ruin anything. Figured I'd wait and re-watch everything.

Also, The Simpsons Movie, since I bought it and forgot I'd done so. Second time seeing it. It's pretty good.

Default I had a busy, movie-filled, day yesterday....

    Finally got a round to:

    (Had a Firth double feature)

    And also:

(Unbelievably shitty, although Willis and Whitaker were good. Akerman and everything else in the film cancelled them out though.)

And I saw "The Descendants" in theaters. Great.

Red Tails. Avoid this one people. I expected it to be bad and it certainly met and even exceeded those expectations. I went to see it only because of my appreciation for the subject matter and to see how it compared to HBO's Tuskegee Airmen. If you have any interest in Red Tails, just pass on it and buy or rent Tuskegee Airmen. It is a considerably greater film that tells the story a lot better.

Thats a shame..Such a great story to tell, and with the technology today to make it bad ass, it sucks it falls flat. I've seen it panned on just about everything I've read. Some of the lines/dialog sounded pretty atrocious.

The dialogue is truly laughable at times
