    Default Favorite Alternate Endings

It's rare and this is why it's my least Favorite Feature on DVD and High-Def (HD DVD/BD) because they usually suck! Sometimes, I watch them when I bored, like tonight...

I went thru Die Hard with a Vengeance's Extras and the Alternate Ending was just brilliant. I don't think Spoiler Warning are necessary here.

McClane finds Gruber and basically explains how he slipped. The brilliant part of this is when he plays "Simon Says" but calls it "McClane Says."

I won't go to detail on my other favorite but it's Gwyneth Paltrow & Michael Douglas' A PERFECT MURDER (waiting for WB to announce the BD).

I like the alternate endings of 1408 but they are all interesting in their own way and each one changes the whole movie so I can't say which is my fav out of all of them but I know that the original ending wasn't as great as some of the alternates and the director's cut

Mine would have to be alternative ending to Butterfly Effect.

    Spoiler:

Where he watches an old film of his mother in labor with him and he jumps back to that time and wraps the cord around his neck and kills himself.

That is def the way it should have ended.

The ending in Director's Cut of The Abyss is better than the theatrical cut. IMO.

I definitely agree with this. They should have kept the alternate ending, but I saw commentary with the director and he thought it may have been too much for an audience. I loved it.

1408 was better. Blade Runner's Director's cut ending was better. Not necessarily an "alternate ending" but the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven was much better than the theatrical version.

Army of Darkness gets my vote.

I love the alternate ending to this flick.

    ""Ahh.......manufactured products".

I wont spoil it for you people that have been unlucky enough to have not seen it, but this particular ending is REALLY inline with the character of Ash and i think it's hilarious

I really liked the third ending that they threw into the Dutch HD DVD extras package of 1408.
The theatrical one was good, directors cut ending not so much.It was too obvious and hokey.

The stop button on my remote for House of the Dead.
Did the primary buffer panel just fall off my gorram ship for no apparent reason?!

yeah apparently it upset some people in the test screenings so I can understand why they changed it for the theatrical release.

I agree that was a powerful alt ending.

In Stigmata, the alt ending was better than the happy go lucky original ending. Another case where the director said, he actually preferred the alt ending, but felt it would leave audiences feeling too depressed.

That's a great way to put it! house of the dead 2 is MUCH MUCH better, honestly. it has some seriously good zombie-ness.

Butterfly Effect, as mentioned, great great alt ending. I'm not big on alt endings, I never watch 'em, really

I preferred the Theatrical Ending Myself...it's responsible for a great line...and it sort of keeps with the overall wackiness of the film.

The Alt ending would have fit the mood better of the Second One...

I'm still waiting for Evil Dead 4.

One day...it will come! Hail to the king, baby!

I like the S-Mart ending more than the Time Travel Ending on Army of Darkness, personally. It keeps the level of cheese going, and the Time Travel one has some pretty shitty effects, so...

I think both were enjoyable, but I will have to agree with you here. I loved the cheesiness in the film, and that ending with S-Mart was fantastic.
