Besides the Supra, what Japanese car is worth a shit for racing? I can build a Chevy that will smoke any import on the road for 1/10th the price it would cost to build an import that has the same 1/4 time.

Shut up! they're bringing back Walker and Diesel, that's awesome. I loved the 1st one, the 2nd in my opinion was abysmal and the 3rd not great but did have a decent story line. I will definitely keep this movie in my radar.

eh, i don't know about that. I mean the handling on the imports is what sells me a lot. I like taking jughandles doing 50 - 60 and being able to grip the road. Autocross is where it is with these vehicles, but because of the speed, they get moved to the streets.

I have to give the american muscle car their props, but that doesn't mean we can over look worthy imports like the Supra and Skyline.

Personally, I have a 1990 GSX doing high 12's on the 1/4 mile. Believe me this is as fast as I want to go, mainly due to reliability issues. The faster you go the more wear and tear on your vehicle. The day I broke a rear axle at the track was the end of my racing days - its too costly to keep up with the repairs.

Ya, it is too costly. Thats why I laugh at my friends and their racing all the time. There were TOO MANY school days we bussed because the cost of the racing the weekend before. Luckily nobody ever got hurt.

For Japanese cars, yes racing is too costly. I had a 1972 Nova which did 11.2's in the 1/4 mile and it cost me a whopping 8k to build in 1994, including the cost of purchasing the vehicle, paint and body work. It was my daily driver, it got about 8-10 miles per gallon, but gas was $1 a gallon back then. I had about 70,000 miles on the engine when I sold itand it still ran strong. I raced the car at least 4 times a month. That was with full interior and a $2,000 stereo system in the car. Damn I miss that car.
