Some reviews and yes I am really looking forward to seeing this on Friday:

    Worth seeing?
Stylish, exciting and impeccably designed, this is an extremely enjoyable action thriller that's commendably faithful to the source material. Essentially, this is the film Judge Dredd fans have been waiting for. Highly recommended.
    http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/films/dr...iew-48046.html

It’s fast-paced, efficient, seat-of-your-pants filmmaking; more than a little messy, but gorgeous to look at, and something the action and comic crowds will find it easy to get behind. It’s crafted with a clear love for the source material, even if it skimps on any dramatic or thematic nuance whatsoever. Still, this is a resurrecting jolt of life to a property that will hopefully find firmer ground with a sequel should it ignite the box office. Dredd is a rare reboot both necessary and successful, doing what Stallone’s stolid effort couldn’t with double the budget – excite, entertain, and stay crucially true to John Wagner’s unwaveringly dark vision. Just don’t expect much from the 3D.

    Verdict:
Grungy, compact and delightfully violent, Dredd wants to hit you as hard as it can. The sequel may be the movie you really want, but for now, justice has been done.

Dredd hits that perfect sweet spot of filmmakers isolating an audience and totally serving that audience. I hope sci-fi fans will appreciate this as a throwback, an homage or just damn awesome.
    http://www.craveonline.com/film/revi...eview-dredd-3d

Lovingly ripped from the pages of 2000AD, Dredd is an adrenaline-fuelled thrill burst that does Tharg’s finest justice, stays true to its roots and leaves you battered, and hungry for more.

I was fully expecting this to suck given the cast and the September release date, but the strong reviews have peaked my interest. Will be checking this out. Plot sounds like a direct rip of The Raid: Redemption though....

Hopefully this won't turn out like MacGrubber where it had 100% with a significant number of reviews and then the score plummets on release day.

Damn thats pretty good. Visually the movie looks awesome and it also looks like the 3D is put to good use in this flick.

This will be a blind buy for me when it is released on home video (3D natch).

Watched this last night and it is superb. This very simply IS John Wagner's vision of Mega City One brought to the big screen. It is mean, dirty, and grungy as hell. Urban is simply amazing as Dredd and yes that chin gets to work its whiskers off.... Olivia Thirlby is superb though as Judge Anderson, the rookie Psi Judge accompanying Dredd on an Assessment Day that neither will ever forget.
Lena Headley makes a great villain as the lethal Block/ Drug Lord Ma-Ma who must be in the running for the title of most evil bitch to ever appear on screen. Her titanic struggle with Dredd never lets up from start to finish and the film just flies by.

Forget the Stallone version (and yes forget the Dark Knight Rises too), this is the real deal and I for one will be treating myself to an encore very soon.

Saw this at a midnight showing last night. A packed screening, too. It was great! This, along with The Raid, are the best action films of the year. I'll be going back for a 2D screening. The 3D was subtle, great depth of field, and the scenes of 'slo-mo' were very pretty. The film definitely did not hold back.

We need a sequel, so if you're on the fence about seeing it then suck it up. It's grand!

Holy shit, that sucks. I almost went to it yesterday, but ended up just hanging out at home. But I will see this in the theater. I better go see it in the next couple weeks or it will be gone.
