I think as an HBO miniseries it would work best. 8-10 one hour episodes to cover the whole thing.

I know. I was expecting something fun, and at moments I did. It's passable entertainment. That's what I've said of most of the Marvel films...except Captain America. That was just awful.

Anyway, I didn't expect the film to breeze past points of character development, for instead, a round table of one liners. Not with it's running time. It spends a great deal of time setting something up. It bombards you with something in the beginning. However, most of it doesn't matter. It feels tacked on. Like, somewhere is like...we can't just start at 100. So, let's just dump them all together, dook it out a few times, then bam...Team!

I think they missed a big opportunity with the film. I just felt there needed to be some kinda of growth, and actual purpose. It just felt..."gamey." Like, we weren't privy to why things were happening, they just were, so we have to either be onboard or not. Which, if you're a fan of The Avengers, I can see you already being on board. It's feeding that purpose. It isn't transcending anything, but it at least is catering to your desire.

I just would have liked to have seen Captain America actually become a leader. His film was terrible, and I felt that this movie needed to pick up the slack for him. They needed to show that Chris Evans is actually a good fit for Captain America. I still think he is wrongly cast. He's the weakest of the performers, and has terrible presence as the "supposed" leader. The film could have been a bit more than just Iron Man 2.5. As that's the only character who actually has any form of a story arc.

I don't hate the film. I'm indifferent to it. I had moments of fun. I'll probably watch it again on cable. I don't expect to own it. Nor do I desire to sit through it again in the theater. I saw it...and it was okay.

I liked Captain America most out of all the movies. I tend to like the super heroes who have actual limitations. It makes them more interesting. Like Daredevil for example, although I never liked the movie all that much.

I thought the Thor movie seemed to promise a lot but never delivered. He never smashed any people with the hammer which I was looking forward to. I liked the Iron Man movies but it seems as though the Iron Man suit can conveniently deal with any situation Tony Stark faces without putting him in any danger.

I liked the Hulk movie, although It would have been better if they had the whole origin story for the first movie, just like Captain America.

What about all the freaking frost giants he beat to shit?

He pretty much got his ass kicked in both movies. He just happened to outsmart his villains so I'm not sure I agree there either.

I disagree with this too. Origin movies are getting old. Everyone knows how the Hulk became the Hulk. There is no need to dwell on it so long.

Frost giants arent real people, they are fictional CGI creations. I was hoping for a scene where Thor walks into a bar and a gang of locals take a dislike to Thor and pick a fight with him, then Thor annihilates them all in a bar fight!

I never got the sense that Iron Man was in any danger at all by all the jokes and sarcasm in the script. In reality, if you are in real danger, you wont have time for jokes.

The brief origin story at the beginning of the hulk movie in 2008 I thought was too short, I was hoping they could have elaborated on why Banner gave himself a dose of Gamma radiation, it seems to fluctuate between accident and intentional in movies and tv.

Then what about the other soldiers he fought as he was seeking his hammer? He's not going to start hitting humans with his hammer, he'd kill them. Also the Frost Giants weren't entirely CGI. Colm Feore was after all, Laufey.

This is a superhero... Spider-Man, Iron Man and many more throw jokes in moments like those.

Your expecting the avengers to be something they never were.

Yeah, if Thor had hit people with his hammer he would have killed them........and?

I was hoping for more dimensional characters for a live action movie. In the old Superman movies, the director could at least half convince the audience the Superman was in danger in some scenes. It all added to the suspense of the movie and made it more interesting.

But Thor is a mythical character. The real Vikings on the other hand wouldnt think twice about doing something like that. Again, just to give the characters a bit more realism and dimension.

This is Thor the comic book superhero. This isn't the same version as the Norse deity. Realism goes out the window for comic book characters, as well as science fiction, fantasy etc...

It seems like they have a taken a Viking and basically castrated the dude for comic book purposes.

It is currently on top of the UK box office for the third week.

This may be the highest grossing movie of all time. It is certainly possible.
