It's not as good as the films on the list, but I always kind of liked Real Genius.

Great call on Bill & Ted - I loved that movie. It's one of those that I almost don't want to see again because I want to remember how much I liked it back when it came out.

Everyone overlooks the awesomeness of, The Sure Thing. That's playing soon at my local AFI theater. I'm super excited about it. One of my favorites from the decade.

Believe me it's even better when you revisit it. As a young-in I never caught onto the whole "Edible complex" line uttered by Ted during the school presentation. So funny.

Yeah, 'Sixteen Candles' belongs on the list. But I also love 'Real Genius,' 'Just One of the Guys,' 'One Crazy Summer,' 'Can't Buy Me Love,' 'Revenge of the Nerds,' 'Porky's,' '3 O'Clock High,' 'Heathers,' 'Summer School,' 'License to Drive,' 'Some Kind of Wonderful,' 'Adventures in Babysitting,' 'Losin' It,' 'Footloose,' and without a doubt, should never be forgotten, 'Valley Girl.'

I love my 80s flicks. I grew up watching every single one of those repeatedly thanks to my local video store. I think I really would have had a hard time picking between any of them for a short list, so kudos to Aaron. Awesome list.

P.S. btw, the "Me decade" is the 70s, not the 80s. just FYI.

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

It's odd that I don't really consider Heathers an "80's film." It just always felt like a 90's retrospective 80's film. It has all the cynicism.

Heathers is absolutely in my top 5 favorite films from the 80's. Right up there with Blade Runner. I'm super serious.

Wrestled with putting 'Heathers' and 'Sixteen Candles' on there. If I lengthened the list to 10 they would've made it.

A very good list except I'd replace Ferris Buhler with 16 Candles.
I always thought Ferris was ridiculously overrated.

Some good 80's flicks for sure...though I remember another decent John Cusack movie "Better Off Dead". The girl that played the French exchange student was gorgeous I.M.O.
