in situations like this, it would have alerted some users to this guy who was banned in the past concerning bad trading, and could have gotten it caught faster than it did (a bit shout out to my boy Josh for forwarding me the first bit of damning evidence before i found more, basically getting the dog onto the scent). people already are afraid of the trading areas due to people like Mark and Keith, the guys who deserve their own shrines in the scammer hall of (douche) fame, and my reasoning in bringing this issue to you all is to try to make everyone safer in this area.

every vote against my proposal is being taken into account, as well.

Despite my objection to the proposal it doesn't seem like many users need to be swayed. If HDD wanted to make this list they almost certainly could w/o causing too much ruckus. I have never traded here yet so I guess I wouldn't be leaving or anything extreme my self, not so sure any one else would besides bad ppl.

I guess my personal view is aren't there other more discrete options? Perhaps create a more dedicated trading system rather than maintaining the informal forums system. I realize HDD might be worried about liability, but I think it might well be sufficient to have a clear, consise TOS stating that HDD and it's parent company(s) are not liable for damages caused by fraud or anything else. A requirement could be entering the very address information you are seeking to publicly publish into a database. It should be possible to programically match addresses for similariteis and flag potential (or actual) return scammers.

Without a doubt, yes. People should not be able to get banned, then return and start fresh. It is hard enough to get banned here anyways.

I say sure, why not. They took the time to come on here and screw us, so back at them. There are plenty of us who are legit honest traders, we don't need anyone messing it up for us.

as soon as i'm not busy beyond belief.

however, it would take a trade ban to get on that list, aka someone comitting to a trade and not doing their end, or selling and not ever shipping. the hall of shame section will be locked for mod addition/editing only, though publicly viewable for public safety

he did it multiple times, and had a spam signature. spammers realize they can't link in posts, so they do it in sigs and post nonsensically. THIS ONE was quite brilliant, but Josh caught him on the one in this thread, and i did a search and his other post was the same thing on another user.

yeah i have a user i bought games from and he hasn't been on here since the 14th paid on the 9th no response to pm's, and now his inbox is full guessing he's gone...
