Default Hey, MODs could you do something about this kinda stuff?

Here is a thread about the upcoming release of the Matrix on over 1/3 of the posts are talking about the version.

http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=61862

If I and a group of fans went to the thread for the German import for T2 and chatted up the version how it was cheaper and more readily available. Would this be tolerated? I think you guys and Princess know the answer to this.

Honestly, I think you could have went without the second part. The first got your point across.

Is this a joke? I just read through the thread and nobody is "lobbying" for HD-DVD anything. most of that 1/3 of posts you cited is simply just people saying things like "I'll stick with my hd set" or "this will have the animatrix in hd and the hd-dvd didn't."

If former hd-dvd titles are going to be re-released on blu-ray and people are purple (as presumably you are, OP), why would you not expect to read posts stating things like "I'll stick with the hd-dvd" or discussing the difference between the blu and hd version? For purple people, a double dip is a double dip.

The format war is over, stop fighting the battle.

every title that has had a previous HD DVD release but is now coming to Blu is going to have this type of HD DVD comparison talk.
deal with it.

It is not just comparison talk.

Mods, please also start taking out any mention of SD-DVDs as well. Also, reviewers, can you no longer reference SD-DVDs or the opposite format in your reviews since the reviews are not posted in the general area, but the blu-ray or hd-dvd software specific forums? I don't want anyone to burst my blu-bubble...nothing besides blu-ray exists

If people want to say things like "I rather buy this on hd b/c it is cheaper" who cares? Price discussions always pop up in the software anouncements threads.

I'm sorry but if people are simply saying i'll stick with the hd dvd, i really do not see the issue. I was one of the people who said I will stick with my hd dvd but I have since decided to slowly just fade them out.

Let me ask though if we are on a videogame forum for ps3, xbox, and the wii. A game comes out on all three systems. But lets say it came out on the ps3 and wii first. six months later it comes time for the 360 version. You mean to tell me that you don't expect people to talk at all about the ps3 or wii versions?

I mean seriously there are still plenty of hd dvd owners on our forum. If some of them can even provide feedback on how a hd dvd looked it can give blu ray owners info on how the blu ray will look. I see no problem at all with hd dvd talk as long as it doesnt get out of line.

So a discussion on how the Ultimate Matrix collection on DVD came with a bust of Neo would be relevant?

Sounds like more than I'm keeping my version to me.

Without one review in about the version of the movie to say I'm keeping my version, is opinion based off of ignorance with a motive that is see threw.

With Warner's LONG standing usage of the EXACT same transfer from HD DVD to Blu (even with BB the first HD "exclusive" from Warner to show up after the switch) I think that to say it is based off of ignorance is looking at the issue with severe Blu Blinders. Oh and to save that thread I will be keeping my version as well. Not to mention that finding the BD set for $25 is probably going to be tough. The bias is something I see through. HD DVD exists and will continue to exist no matter what certain people seem to think that on T-Day (Toshiba capitulation) HD DVD apparently quit working (I luckily got a player that seems to be immune to the self distruct that was built in)

As the slogan says "The future is Blu". To not promote or hype the format & its releases is stupid if you like the idea of HDM.

WOW! Yours works too I thought my player was the only one left.

You would think that someone might sick of making the same carbon copy posts, but I guess they like the sound of key strokes.

If people are benignly saying "I'll keep my hd-dvd version" then that's probably okay simply because there are some releases that are actually causing the hd-dvd guys to double dip.

However, if people are in the blu-ray forums to sort of talk up hd-dvd, they have no business there and should get warnings.

Hd-dvd has no business in the blu-ray forum, and the reverse rule stands true as well. People have generally respected this and should continue to do so. People in the blu-ray section don't care about your hd-dvds =P

The format war is over, yet there are still blu fanboys around? Why do people care about this? HD media is HD media for people that are purple making a blu release of a previously available hd-dvd just like any other double dip. Why shouldn't people be allowed to compare the releases or comment that they will opt for one vs. the other?

This level of blu insecurity is amusing.

And yes, if someone wants to mention that the sd-dvd set came with a Neo bust, that is perfectly relevant. Perhaps someone would like a similar bust to come with the blu-ray set, but why do you care? They are still discussing the blu release when they are compare it to a different release.

Maybe we should have a Blu-ray Discussion for Blu-ray Fanboys sub-forum where you guys can make threads filled with nothing, but the word "blu-ray" over and over again to preserve your precious little blu-egos.

That's what blu-ray.com is for.
