Default HDD Policies about Protecting Users

Hi Jed,

Can we get a policy to protect gay members? Also we now need rules to protect Muslims and also Jewish users. I think also other people groups too but there are so many to list. This is a good idea to create rules for groups because creating rules and policies that effect everyone is not a good idea. Its much better and efficient to create seperatist rules for certain people and genders.

I see Juicy started a new policy to protect female members from male bashing but what about the rest of us? I would like additional protection policies too. I was bashed quite often for no valid reason by 3 guys here who were never banned.

I would like to see Internet Brands official policy regarding homosexual members and those of other groupings and how they are safe and protected here. Since women need a specific policy I think the rest of us do too. I also plan to email this to Jed and the executives directly.

Bey
PS can we get a new rule that asks the "ladies" to treat the guys like "gentlemen" too? And also one that says the gentlemen must act like gentlemen?

I wonder how that's going to work out.

I agree with you, as I am pretty certain that you are still saying that there should not be specific rules for specific people. I hope he understands the sarcasm.

Since when does any forum on the Internet have to have official policies in effect to protect certain groups? Internet Brands shouldn't have to have any policy to protect any group here. There should be general guidelines for conduct and they enforced by the moderators. Internet Brands may be the parent company here but to try and go "straight to the top" to try and influence them to make new policies to protect members here is ridiculous and self serving in my opinion. If you have issues contact the moderators and let them handle it. End of story.

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic... he actually doesn't want specific policies for specific groups of people.

The sarcasm was entirely lost on me...
Sadly, a post like that is entirely believable, because people can be really really super lame about PC/ "equal" rights crap.

You have got to be kidding????

I have a better idea......

Since this is supposed to be a forum about HIGH DEFINITION MEDIA & HARDWARE , why not just delete the WATER COOLER forum altogether, so that if there happens to be anyone with an "agenda", they can go rant somewhere else more appropriate.

PS: This is in no way any type of derogatory remark at the OP. This is just a comment in general.

I dont care who you are, what you are, where you are from, who you prefer to have sex with, or what deity you think made us all as I don't know what ANY of that has to do the discussion of High Definiton Media.

Therefore, no "special rules" are necessary or required.

JuCo and Samantha from Internet Brands contact me already and agree there is some concerns with this new rule. Samantha sent my concern to the VP of Online Communities John Sullivan and she said he will resolve this. They are very happy I contacted them and said they take it very seriously and that no rules should only apply to certain groups even if the wording only says so.

But the rules concern EVERYONE!!! I have tried removing myself from this argument to keep my sanity but this is just ridiculous! Why would you contact someone that has nothing to do with this site, instead of going higher up as you are supposed to.

That sticky was simply a reminder, due to recent event in that part of the site. Nothing more, it does not give special rights to any group!! You are going completely over the heads of the people who run this site, just to get your agenda across to everyone. Continuing this just instigates further unrest at this site, and could contribute to a serious renovation and/or shutting down of specific sections, which nobody wants. Please stop this assault.

Where does it say it? Sure Juicy admits it concerns everyone on the last page but who is going to read all 40 replies? the first post is the main thing and it says guys. maybe it is as much to do with pride or not wanting to seem to give in to people feedback? i undersand so I then make a case of my feedbacks. he even admits it but doesnt change it to say "EVERYONE"

Yes I did go to the top because juicy was friendly to me and made it open to discuss. Which you and I and others did but then he got so upset and said he is tired of rehashing and closed. At least give his insight on the feedback we and myself issued on that topic. He didnt even say anything it was a contraction on himself since he asked for feedback then doesnt want to hear it. I already spoke with the higher ups and they arent happy. I went to Jed and another person. I did the right thing and went higher. Juicy is not the ultimate person and I tried to explain him but as you can see he is not at least addressing anything. he just got angry again and closed it. his first post was written in anger and Samantha from the executive team said it doesnt look good to see a post from a mod in so much anger. So they will contact and decide.

thats all i am done with it since out of my hands. just wanted to update and please stop already. you keep bringing the issue up. i am over it and will let juco and internet brands work it out beyond my control. please drop it.

since the OP is saying drop it, i'm locking this one, so that it does get dropped. this situation will get handled.

this thread is chock full of criticism of moderation (see quote below from our rules found atop EVERY page in the forums), 1 moderator in particular, as well, so if anyone disagrees w/ the 1st reason of locking of thread, there's 2. if anyone has a problem w/ how moderation is handled, the PM system is the route to go, or to word it as the rules do, not the open forums.
