I think they wouldn't start from episode 7 with Blu, they'd have to start from the beginning. Since BV already stated they would complete the series in HD DVD + DVD twin format, I suppose they will keep their word. The episode 7 was already released on SD DVD in Japan (as were the previous episodes in a bit earlier schedule than the BV U.S. HD DVD + DVD twin releases).

I doubt the HD DVD production infrastructure has completely disappeared so fast (especially since HD DVD production was supposed to be able to re-use modern DVD production lines with minimal changes) and these are probably pretty small volume production runs. They might have already produced the discs in any case.

Anyway, besides this series, BV has been pretty much focusing on BD already for a long time. It's just a question of completing the series in the same format for the loyal customers. Makes sense.

Thanks I think there are still lots of Suspiria fans who are eagerly awaiting for a High-Def release, myself included!

It's going a bit off topic, but anyway...

I have a feeling Freedom 7 is already pressed, or that it will just be released as a plain DVD.

I agree with the OP, there's, at most, 2 more HD DVDs to be released domestically.
