I don't want to curse anything guys, but it's starting to feel like the website is actually working... Whatever they did (or stopped doing) thank god.... If this was a result of maint (doubt it given the length of the error) could they try scheduling this for the middle of the night?

Things should be better. I'll post more information when I receive it about what went wrong.

In my experience with websites, issues like this aren't related to the site itself but more the server it is on. The site has probably outgrown the server it is on or rather parts of the server, such as the RAM or Processor, and is the cause for the issue. I guess we'll know more once Internet Brands comments on it more.

The problem was a software issue with the firewall, and has been resolved. Sorry for all the problems guys.

just had some really weird stuff happen.
I clicked on the import forum, and it came up with lots of blue boxes with all the ? marks, and then when I tried to click on a thread, it just broke up into all these big boxes all stacked on top of each other.
I don't think I've ever seen that before.
I think it's maybe a bug.

As did I, but mine was the "Red X" of IE....

WTH is the "trackbacks" thing under the new post text box?

We just installed some updates that should help the site with SEO. If those problems happened during the install process, that might be the cause. I've been browsing the site for a couple mins now and haven't been able to see the issue. Please let me know if it's continuing to happen.

OK two questions.
  1. What is SEO?
  2. What's the "Send Trackbacks" thing, what's it for?

SEO is Search Engine Optimization, ie - something you should try to do on your site to make more money from your links. It's basically making your coding more friendly to spiders so you can get more traffic from google.

Is the "Trackbacks" text still showing up? It shouldn't! Trackbacks are a way CMS's (content management systems - you should read up on those too) communicate to each other to let them know when one site's linked the other. Let's say you have a wordpress blog, and you link to a post on this forum. Your server will try to send a trackback to this site to let us know that you've linked us. Many sites don't accept them (like, I believe they are turned off here) and what people do with that information varies from site to site. Some sites post trackbacks in comments, others just delete them. wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trackback

If you're seeing "trackback" text on the page, it's a bug and we need to address it.
