In the HD-DVD Studio FAQ Buena Vista is listed as a HD-DVD supporting studios. Buena Vista is wholly owned home video division of The Walt Disney Company, so right now they are not a HD-DVD studio.

Missing from the list of HD-DVD supporting studios are Image, Rhino and most importantly The Weinstein Company.

I have heard rumours that Sony is working on TV recording to PS3 HDD pencilled in for mid 2007. This will require buying a USB digital tuner.

I'll look into this, and add it when I can find a definitive date... If you find it before me, please send me a link, and it will go up.

Default HD Sound FAQ

There need's to be a FAQ for audio on BluRay and HDDVD.. They've got all these TrueHD's, Uncompressed, Dolby Digital, DTS, etc...

Which is the best, and how do we know we have the correct equipment to use these features??

I will get to work on this... hopefully it will be up within a few days (meaning before Monday 2/26).

Thank you for responding.

To give you a quick heads up (so you aren't waiting until Monday)... TrueHD and DTS Master are new compressed lossless audio formats... it's kind of like 'WinZip'. You still have all the original information, it's just packaged more efficiently.

With uncompressed audio (typical of Blu-ray) it's exactly that... raw audio data... it's not formated in any way for efficiency. I will get into 'what you need' later, but that's the jist for now.
