Default Retaliatory itrader feedback: acceptable, or no?

I've come across a few instances recently where members have left negative feedbacks as a response to being given one, where it is also the first I or Iggytx find out about there even being a dispute. I'm not going to say when and where I feel feedback is appropriate, but I feel there is a point that needs to be brought up on this:

If a member gets hit by someone (ie not receiving their product/side of the trade), and yet, they fulfilled THEIR end of the bargain (and can prove it w/ paypal receipt, postal receipt, deliv conf#, etc), do they really deserve a negative? If they receive one, should it be policy, in these instances, to remove it?

This site, and the trading forums within, aren't ebay, and that's why I enjoy them so much. every individual trader matters, and every individual concern can get addressed.

This isn't a concern on any feedback involving me, as I've yet to get into a dispute w/ any member on a trade, but when someone already is on a losing end of a deal, do they really deserve a kick while they're down? I'd like some thoughts on this, as I feel it's something that should be enforced, and members should be protected when they've done no wrong.

negative feedback left in retaliation shouldn't be tolerated. it's what makes feedback so uneven in that buyers might not give an honest report on the transaction because they're afraid of getting retaliation from the seller. it's why i always give feedback after a buyer pays because their part of the transaction is done.

and in the case of a trade, it's a leap of faith that you're putting into someone to follow through with your agreement and there should always be tracking numbers and proof of shipment in the event that something goes wrong.

plus, negative feedback given when it's the fault of the carrier is also unacceptable. as long as there is a way to track your package, you should be able to call the carrier and get some kind of resolution that way instead of retaliating against the seller or trader.

i think before any neg feedback is allowed to be given a mod should be informed of what the situation is. both you(N8boss) and Iggytax are fair and likeable moderators, the fact people leave a neg feedback with out trying the most valuable form of help on the site( the moderators) can be kind of revealing in its self.
in my opinon feedback should not just be about wheather the movie came or not but also should take into consideration how it is to deal with them as a person.

i know if i got a movie and everything was great with the movie, but the seller was rude and obnoxious non communicative or the like i feel like they dont deserve a good feedback.
there is a person who lurks around the trade forums who has negative feedback for that reason, (i never personally left any for him/her but i stay clear of his/her trades because i see that while the traders got there movies ok, the guy was a real obnoxious jerk to deal with.)
iam not going to say his name cause we arent allowed to but iam sure most people would know who iam talking about.
in anycase
anyone who leaves retalitory neg feedback with out haveing just cause, should get a point against them.

When a seller agrees to sell to a buyer is it not as important that the seller look at the feedback the buyer has given and recieved? Retalitory feedback i agree is not acceptable, unless the transaction went sideways on both ends.
