Agreed. That's why it was fixed.

When a site reader checked out the forums for the first time, they were greeted with a collection of stagnant forums, like "High-Def Digest News and Announcements" at the top of the page. By shifting the most active subforums with great threads to the top of the page and simplifying the categories, we hope that more lurkers will be encouraged to participate when visiting the forums.

I like that idea. We can make a CES parent forum for those.

We will be deleting those empty, bouncing categories soon.
    Thanks for the response Flay.

I'd like to recommend returning the Feedback Forum to the top. My reasoning is this: first, it's good to have site announcements and active site administrative discussion at the top for everyone to see. Next, I visit this site on several different monitors at different resolutions. On a couple of these, when I load the forums, all I see is a huge block of forums without any real division. It's not until I scroll down a bit until I see that those top several forums are actually grouped under "blu-ray" and there are other groupings.

I think, visually and information-wise, that would be a good move.

Also, you might consider archiving "Blu-ray and Game Consoles" to shorten that top cluster of forums; we have forums devoted both to gaming and to blu-ray hardware, so the forum is redundant and infrequently used

Ok, now I'm noticing two different layouts when I visit the site on different occasions. So I'm not sure which is the right layout. Right now the layout showing up has feedback at the bottom of the page. Is that the right one?

HD DVD software forum should not be grouped with "archived" forums. It has 32 visitors right now, only 3 other forums have more visitors than that at this moment(Blu-ray Software, Game Room and Home Theater Gear).

I suggest merging the 4 HD DVD forums into one, either as sub forums or dumping the posts from the other three forums into the HD DVD software forum. HD DVD does not need four sub forums on the main page at this stage of the game. One is fine, but NOT to be labeled as an "archived" forum please. It is way too active for that label. It should be adde to the other High Definition Content and Gear forum area if the forums are merged.

Also the CES forums should be merged as a series of sub forums within a general CES forum. Maybe you guys are already working on that, because it seems obvious not to have so many unnecessary forums on the main page, even if they are towards the bottom.

LOL, the layout is different again. Feedback is in Everything Else now. Is it because I use Firefox at home and IE at work?

I may be wrong but I think they just tweaked it again. IIRC Feedback was off by itself so maybe they decided to just group it with other miscellaneous stuff.

One thing they do now, I noticed, is they have these platform wars, like "Xbox is better than Playstation." That's nerdy to me. What the fuck is the matter with you?

Could you please change the name of the HD DVD area to "HD DVD Forums" rather than "HD DVD Archive"? You have "CES Forums" instead of "CES Archive" and it has only 2 visitors, while HD DVD has 30. The word "archive" implies that it is not longer active. The HD DVD area is still active and is actually the top HD DVD site on the internet.

I have to say...the title of the thread cracked me up when I read it,lol. I did notice the layout had changed and was not sure I liked it yet or not but who am I and it's not my decision so whatever....I will get use to it. Then I read the title of the thread and cracked up because I could understand the OP's point and I also respected the fact that he was not shy about his feelings about how he felt about the change by starting a thread about it,lol.
