Do yourself a favor and go buy the originals on the PC.
This is **NOT** a game like Gears of War or Halo!!! This is an RPG with gratuitous violence and over-the-top action with humorous situations and characters.
Many believe the originals were some of the best games ever.Online name for 360, PSN and Steam - Snadinator

Honestly? FO3 looks boring, the graphics are medicore...and its probably too long. FO3 = game for hardcore bethesda junkies.
I really can't get over how medicore the graphics were. It seemed promising, now it just seems lackluster. GOTY will go to MGS4, GTAIV, or Gears 2. -

I have never, EVER understood
how people can feel an RPG can be too long? Seriously, I just don't get it. Can someone clue me in on this?
The entire reason that WoW and EQ and EVE do so well is because RPG junkies can't get ENOUGH of their favorite games. I can see how twitchies would lose interest after fifteen minutes, put the game down, come back in two hours and forget what was going on in the storyline. But RPG people? I can't see how any RPG person could complain about the length of an RPG.
Complain about quality, absolutely. If something sucks, I don't want to be subjected to extra hours of it. But if it's good, pile it on. This 30 hour storyline model is really getting annoying.

I don't know why but their character models always put me off. The graphics weren't quite as good as I was expecting but I'll get the game regardless.

I suspect Gears is not going to be a GOTY contender, honestly. The other two probably...this, I'd say still definitely has a chance. Ok, it won't be your GOTY...but I don't think a lot of people really get why people are excited about this. I think they're just looking at it as another shooter, in which case, it does look pretty average. But...it's a whole lot more than that.

Anyone hear anything about the Hubologists? I would REALLY REALLY love to see them come back
.
For people that never played Fallout 2; The Hubologists were a group who were a mirror image of Scientologists. I'm sure they would get much more flak these days for including this group, but they were really a hilarious group to interact with...Every bit as psychotic at the real deal
.
AND here is a comic for old Interplay (the original publisher behind Fallout) fans, sad but true:

I'm looking forward to it. If they keep the same humor and manage to capture that Mad Max post-apocalyptic flavor to the art design, then it could be a fun game to play. I'm not looking for a revolution in game design with a Fallout game, I'm looking for a FALLOUT game. If Bethesda can keep the same feel and bring up to this generation of graphics I'll be a happy camper. Hopefully having Qui Gon Jin as your dad won't be quite as underwhelming as having Captain Picard (briefly) as your king.
