Default Perfect Dark headed to Xbox Live

You would have thought Microsoft would tried to squeeze in every big announcement they possible could into yesterday's press conference, but at least one exciting tidbit has only just surfaced. Xbox Live's Major Nelson posted on Twitter that Perfect Dark will see the light of day on Xbox 360 and is headed to the Xbox Live Arcade this winter. A free Perfect Dark theme will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow to celebrate.
This is extremely surprising when considering that the project was completely shot down due to the licensing issues. A listing for the game, along with other XBLA games, did surface in early May, but the game is now up and running at E3.

I know a couple of folks who will flip out with joy over this. Good job Microsoft.

Now if they can get Goldeneye with Live multiplayer matching, doubt that will ever happen.

Laptop guns, sticky grenades, throwing knives, x-ray rifle...all make Perfect Dark far better.

Granted, they need to update the controls.

As far as gameplay goes, Perfect Dark was better than Goldeneye. But I think people have more attachment to Goldeneye than Perfect Dark.

Apparently it's in 1080p and with a stable framerate unlike the original. If it's widescreen I may consider getting it.

I think level design in goldeneye was much better then in PD.

Well, Perfect Dark featured the best MP levels from Goldeneye.

This game is my absolute favorite console FPS. It did things on the console that nobody thought was possible. The multiplayer itself was amazing, with 4 player splitscreen and bots! I also loved the cooperative campaign. This game was ahead of its time and nowhere near as popular as it should have been. I can't wait to get this downloading!!
p.s. I hope they clean up the polygons a little cause the game is very outdated in that department.

Needs better controls, or I don't care.

Some of the best. I prefered the worst goldeneye map to the best PD map.
