Default Looking to buy a cross format player in the UK

But I've found very little info, is it better to import a cross format player (that will play HD and Blu Ray), or are they likely to release one in the UK anytime soon?

Thank you for reading.

You know, I think at this point your best bet would be to find a seller on ebay that ships internationally and have at it. If there aren't cross-format players in the UK by now, I doubt there ever will be.

Thankfully there are two good options out there at the moment. Get 'em while they're hot!

If I were you Id go for the LG BH200 simply because us are in Region 2 and the LG has a region hack for it(BD and SD)....The Samsung while a capable player, as of yet has not Region hack for SD DVDs or Blu-ray.....

Besides possible computer drive releases,I dont think the rest of the world will see dual format players at this point..

Thank you both for your time, I will get this looked into some point over the weekend.

As you can imagine, it's a bother having to keep moving the television out, and getting behind to swap cables all the time

I thought the UK was Region 1 just like the US? Or is that just with BR disks? (Hey! Why not make it more confusing!

BD discs for the UK are Region B, US is Region A.

More info can be found at www.releaselists.com and click on the Region Code Info Link on the left side.
