Default Time may be running out for Sammy combo?

I see the Sammy BD-UP5000 shot back up to $700.00 from $449.00 at Amazon. Could be a sign that time is running out for this machine? Looks like Circuit City has it for $499.00 though.

It looks like they ran out of stock and one of their partners filled the slot with their no-discount $700 price-tag. I predict it will come down soon.

Crutchfield claims discontinuation, so it should be clear by next month if the end is nigh.

Newegg has it for $460 and most of the Amazon resellers have it for less. Best Buy and Circuit City still have it and you can still find it at many of the other authorized Samsung resellers: http://www.samsung.com/us/peaceofmind/ceddealers.html

One of them offers the best deal I've seen, for only $15 more than a PS3: TheHighDefinitionStore

I certainly hope they keep it around for awhile. I know several people that still want to buy it. I see the new price caused it to drop to number 7 on Amazon's best selling player list today.

Default UPDATE: Price back down on Amazon

I think this is an incredible player, and I just took notice today that it's dropped back down in price. This time to $489

That's because Amazon proper got more stock in finally. Great news is they haven't stopped production quite yet apparently (at least as of March 2008), meaning firmware fixes have a greater chance of coming.
