Still not a good price for me.

BTW: It's $610.57, now. It's $599.77 at Vanns, with free shipping.

i would love this player but it lacks acceptable advanced codec support and profile 2.0 (even pathetic little profile 1.1 as it stands now)

if samsung would announce support is coming, even if its months out... i would buy this today.

Pathetic 1.1 support? Why don't you tell us why 1.1 is so pathetic and why 2.0 is apparently so much better?

The chances of the 5500 ever seeing the light of day are extremely minimal.

I would bet that the 5500 gets scrapped and since the 5000 will be discontinued, best to buy it now since there is still stock available.

1.1 = PiP, 2.0 = PiP as well as Web interactivity and hopefully features similar to U-control.

you know... 2.0 basically equals what my HD DVD player could do for the last 2 years....

a shame its taking so long on BR really....
